Nawin was right, whoever attacked the Yakuza made sure that all the accidents didn't look like they were part of a bigger scheme. Everything ended with a really wealthy businessman from Tokyo selling his house in a well known area of the city and going back to Japan to take care of family businesses, it was obvious that he lost that kind of strange war and was forced to retreat.

"Why did you change your mind? You didn't seem like you wanted to dig deeper a few days ago" Tinn asked, he left a cup of tea next to Charn's laptop, then he sat down on a chair nearby, sipping while looking at his husband, waiting for a response.

"You're right, at first I didn't want to see what was really going on because there was nothing going on... but now it is different. More and more elements don't stick together as they should, and you know that I'm willing to risk everything when it comes to something that wakes up my curiosity" Charn replied and took the cup of tea, almost spilling himself after taking a sip, since it was too hot for him.

Tinn chuckled, he took his phone out of his pocket and started scrolling. After a while, Charn made a strange noise. Tinn immediately turned to him, then, as he noticed that his husband was basically glued to the screen of his computer, he stood up and walked behind him to see what caught his attention.

The article Charn found was about an apparently leaked letter sent by Kim to Thanthai. The letter went as follows:

"Thanthai, believe me when I say that you don't deserve to be hated, to suffer because of your father's deeds, I hate that you got involved into something because of other people's actions. I'm not going to lie, I've never felt what you're going through right now, I'm not going to tell you that I understand what it feels like to be hated like that, but I'm willing to help you. I want to protect you. The people that are doing this to hurt you will pay for their actions"

Charn read the letter again and again, wondering if the letter got accidentally leaked or if it was sent to the journalists on purpose to look like a merciful person against a bloodthirsty society.

The following day, Kim called Charn, asking him to come as soon as possible to discuss an important detail of the trial. Charn let Tinn hear the whole phone call, and the lawyer's husband immediately feared that said meeting could end really bad, however Charn insisted and eventually convinced Tinn to let him go. Several minutes later, Charn was in the entrance hall of Kim's mansion.

"Oh, Khun Charn, you're finally here, follow me please..." Arm said sighing in relief as he saw Charn. He ran to him and took him to his boss's office. Arm was definitely nervous, as much as he tried to hide it. They quickly reached the door of the office, but as the bodyguard tried to open the door, the lawyer stopped his hand. Arm turned to him surprised.

"What's wrong, sir?" Arm asked confused.

"What happened? Why are you so nervous? When I heard your boss at the phone he didn't even sound like his usual self" Charn remarked.

"A rough couple of days, sir... but Khun Kim will explain everything, don't worry" Arm said and gently pushed Charn inside the office.
