As the sunlight was infiltrating the room through the shutters, the Australian girl slowly woke up at the feeling of the person in her arms trying to escape her grip.

“Where do you think you're going?” Danielle said, in a somewhat husky voice.

“Oh… Sorry I didn't mean to wake you up.” Haerin said softly as she turned around to face Danielle. “I work at the coffee shop this morning.”

Danielle groaned. “I wanted to sleep in but there's no point if you're leaving early.”

The Korean girl chuckled, Danielle was being adorable as always and it was hard for her to not fold and stay in bed all day. But she had things to do so she gave her girlfriend a kiss on the forehead and walked to Danielle’s closet to find something to change into.

Danielle looked at her the whole time, still laying on her bed. There was something soothing in observing the cat-like girl. Her movements were always elegant and she just looked so beautiful all the time that Danielle just couldn't take her eyes off of her girlfriend.

As Haerin put on a shirt, the mixed girl approached her. “Let me help you with this.” She said while buttoning the shirt.

Haerin smiled and looked at Danielle who was focused on her task. “I could have done it myself.”

“I know… But I needed an excuse to be close to you.” She said, glancing at Haerin with a grin before she finished buttoning the shirt. “All done !” She said happily, taking a step back.

“Thanks.” Haerin said softly as she cupped Danielle’s face and gave her a quick kiss.

Danielle smiled shyly and sat back on her bed. “When are you going to meet your friend ?” She said, trying to sound casual.

Haerin thought as she was looking at herself in the mirror to put her hair in a high ponytail. “Probably around 1PM. We're going out for lunch. Why ?”

“Just to know.”

“You’re sure ?” Haerin teased, once she was done with her hair. “Seems to me that someone still feels salty and jealous.”

Danielle huffed and crossed her arms. “When are you going to let go of that ? I never would have made a big deal out of it if you said the truth from the beginning.”

Haerin chuckled. “Just kidding.” She patted the Australian girl's head. “I gotta go now.” She gave Danielle one last kiss before going out.

Quickly after Haerin's departure, Minji and Hanni also left Danielle's apartment because they had class that morning. Which only left Hyein and her at home.

“Didn't you notice something weird with Hanni and Minji this morning?” Hyein said to the mixed girl, later in the morning. “Like, they kept looking at each other in a weird way during breakfast.” She added, wanting to know Danielle's idea on the matter.

Even a fool would have notice something was off with Hanni and Minji. After what happened last, both of them started acting like freshly new brides around each other. Giggling for literally nothing when they prepared breakfast for everyone this morning. Hyein almost wanted to bang her head against the wall when they were making waffles because she felt completely ignored by the two others. But when she asked what was going on to Hanni, the Australian girl told her nothing which bothered Hyein. Something was off and she was too curious to let go of it.

However, Danielle wasn't listening at all. Her mind was still on Haerin and that mysterious highschool friend. She knew there was no reason to freak out but something in her was giving her a bad feeling about it.

“Danielle ?” Hyein said again.

“Huh ? You said something?” She asked, finally leaving her thoughts.

“I’m talking about Hanni and Minji.” Hyein repeated. “But forget about that. Why are you so distracted today ?”

“Nothing…” She said, but Hyein raised her brows to force her to explain herself. “Well… It's just that Haerin will probably meet her friend soon so...” She admitted.

“And… ? I don't see an issue here.”

“I don't know… It's just bothering me. Plus, I miss her. Should I just go see her now ? Maybe just from afar or else she’s going to say I’m jealous again. Even though that's not the case. I’m not jealous… Pfff… Ridiculous… I don't get jealous. I’m Danielle Marsh. Why would I be jealous ?” Danielle started yapping more for herself than for Hyein, as she was walking around her house to put on a jacket and her shoes.

Hyein followed her, restraining a laugh. “Who would have thought you’ll be such a freak once you're in love ?” Hyein sighed. “Should I come with you?” She asked nonetheless, always ready to do stupid things.

“No, it's fine. It’s not like I'm going to stalk her. I’m just going to check on her.” Danielle explained like it made any difference.

Hyein crossed her arms. “Dani… That's literally the same thing.”

The mixed girl rolled her eyes. “Fine, I'm being pathetic, I know. Let me go now.” She said, one hand already on the front door handle.

“Okay, don't get caught at least.” Hyein said as she chuckled, amused by that new side of Danielle.

Then, Danielle drove to Haerin's workplace. She waited for about twenty minutes before Haerin finally left the coffee shop and got into her car. The cat-like girl started to drive somewhere as Danielle was discreetly following her with her own car. She put on some music in order to change her mind and chase away the guilt that started building up in her. Haerin had every right to get mad if she learned about the lack of trust Danielle was showing off at the moment. However, she didn't get time to really worry about that as she noticed Haerin entering the parking lot of a really chic restaurant. Another negative feeling started to creep up her mind : anxiety. That wasn't the type of place you’ll take a friend to lunch. What was Haerin really doing ? Danielle got out of her car and smashed her door close in anger as she hurriedly went inside the restaurant.

The waiter easily gave her the permission to enter when he heard her name. Usually, they only took people with reservations but since it was a place often visited by her family, she received a free pass.

Once in, she quickly analyzed the place to find Haerin. The cat-like girl was sitting alone, looking through the window, she seemed kind of nervous.

Danielle asked to sit in a place where she could look at Haerin's table while being hidden from her. She wondered who the mystery friend of Haerin would be. She wanted to see her before acting in any way.

Nevertheless, things turned out to be completely different from the scenarios she imagined when Danielle saw her mother entering the place and sitting in front of Haerin.

Her heart stopped beating for a second. What was going on ? She couldn't hear a thing from where she was but they were talking. Both looking completely serious. A million questions popped in her mind at the same time. Since when did they know each other? How come she didn't hear from her mom if she knew about their relationship? Did her dad also know about it ? Why didn’t Haerin just tell her the truth ? And more important than anything else, what was the reason for their meeting?

She had to do something. She couldn't just let Haerin deal alone with what her mother was making her go through.
