Chapter 28. Take Me As I Am

Tommie POV

I've been in deep thought this past few days and this thought has been about Mariah. She been making me so happy and our relationship has been very strong. I love her and all I think I'm gonna pop the question to her. I'm going to ask her friends for a deep opinion. While she is at work and Jessica already here so I told Rachel to come over and she did with Reign of course. Everybody is in the living room so I headed downstairs to them.

"Hey yall."

"Hey Tommie." Rachel said.

"I just seen your big head ass go upstairs 20 minutes ago, but hey Tommie gee. Let me stop playing because you look serious." Jessica said.

"What's wrong Tommie?" Rachel asked me.

"So I've been thinking heavily about y'all friend lately. And I want to propose to Mariah." They just laughed at me, and I got mad.

"Look Tommie we didn't even mean to laugh at you or the thought that you was serious too. But Mariah not going to say yes." Rachel told me.

"For real Tommie it will be like a heavy no babes. Just because she doesn't want to be married at all, she loves you but not enough to commit or be tied down like that."Jessica told me.

"Mariah has told us that her ex tried to do the same thing and the relationship turned toxic babes. Just stand clear from that question all together."

"Right Tommie don't ruin what y'all have."

I started to cry and went back upstairs closing and locking myself up in the bedroom. I looked at the ring one more time in the box then threw it in my closet. That broke my damn heart to hear and I don't even want to believe them but that's her friends. Why would they lie to me about that. I just got into the bed underneath the blanket crying myself to sleep. I had gotten into a deep sleep and dreamed about me being left at the alter by Mariah.

( "She's not here Tommie so the wedding should be off, even after you told her how you felt deeply about her." Que was my best man and she's pissed right now. "She will be here I have faith Que." "Your faith ain't high enough foe. You should of listened to your Big Sister, not every female you meet off a dating app is what they seem. Especially Mariah big bro." I was sitting at the alter in my tux. When Mariah showed up drunk with a Hennessy bottle in her hand. The guests gasped when she walked down the aisle with a lingerie blouse on. "What everybody gasping at df!! Gasp at y'all momma and not me. Hey baby!!" She was drunk hugging me then kissed me. I moved it my head from her in disguise. "Where is your wedding dress Mariah oh that white thing I burned it cus I'm not banging!! "What?!?" I'm not Banging!!!)

I woke up to banging at the room door. I jumped up to open it. It's Riah home from work. I looked outside and it was dark already.

"Umm sorry to wake you up bae but I had to get into our room honey." I just ignored her and got back underneath the blanket. She came in closing the door locking it.

"Umm no hey baby how was work?or kisses?" She asked me taking her stuff off.

"Hey bae" and I blew her a kiss.

"Damn shade Tommie, what's wrong bae?" I didn't even respond back to her. She put on her pajamas then ran to jump on top of me. "Get up grumpy and kiss your girlfriend. I had a rough day today."

"What happened baby?" I was curious now.

"My girlfriend was being grumpy asf towards me." She just smiled when I sat up.

"You know your a whole damn bug." I just rolled my eyes.

"Only a bug for you baby. Now what's wrong?"

"Nothing Riah, I'm just sleepy."

"You know that I know you're lying to me."

"Fine, go look in my closet on the floor." She got up and walked into my closet and screamed. She came out the closet with her hand covering her mouth.

"Tommie it's gorgeous bae but..."

"I know you don't want to get married in life."

"Not that baby, I just don't want to because everybody always gets married to end up getting a divorce. So it be nice and all but what's the point if your gonna divorce me later on down the line." She does have a point but I don't plan to divorce her.

"I see your point Mariah, but baby I don't plan on divorcing you, you're the love of my life. I wanna be with you forever." She just started crying and I did too. "But if it means that I have to take you as you are then so be it, I will. Just know that I love you and I will make you feel safe and happy than ever." I was holding her hands still crying.

"I love that you will take me as I am, versus having nothing at all. You already make me feel safe and happily than ever Tommie." She was still crying so I held her in my arms tightly. Kissing her head.

"I wanna be like your parents bae. Married for years and be the only one for you. But just know that I wanna marry you and it's doesn't have to be now but just remember and think about it bae." I kept holding her then I lifted her head up to kiss her lips.

"It's not a no baby but I will think heavily about it and give you my answer in a few months, I promise." She locked on my index finger kissing the back of my hand and I kissed the back of hers.

"Okay bae, I had a bogus ass dream too that you stood me up at the alter." I laughed thinking about what I dreamed of and just shook my head.

"Baby I wouldn't even say yes and do you like that. I would never hurt you. But I am gonna give you this ring box back and tell you that I want another one because I still seen it and I will go into my jewelry box to put on my promise ring." She got up off the bed to go In her walk in closet to grab it and put it on. "You remember when I thought you were going to propose to me that day I would have definitely told you no flat out that day. I don't even care if my mommy was there." She told me that then kissed me laying me back on the bed so we could fuck.
