Wukong woke up to a pained shout, his eyes blinked open and he looked around groggily. He noticed a few things. Bandages were squeezing his body, two people were trying to hold him down, and he felt warm. That's strange, it feels nice.
Then he noticed something else.
His arm was up. MK and Macaque looked in front of him with shocked expressions. Pigsy is on the ground and looks dejected--
Oh no I swung at him.
"PIGSY I AM SO SORRY!" Wukong struggled to sit up, pushing MK and Macaque's hands away. Pigsy turned, rubbing his sore jaw, "I knew the risk of helpin' ya, it's fine." The chef suddenly narrowed his eyes, "And what's this about ya bein' a ghost?"
Macaque raised his hand slightly, "Right, so are you gonna spill or not?" Wukong huffed, struggling to cross his arms, "I will, honest! Okay, so MK found my body. I went to retrieve it, then I broke into Nezha's palace to steal a map to the Samadhi Rings!" He pulled out a scroll, grinning openly, "We can defeat Lady Bone Demon with the Samadhi Fire--"
Tang beamed, staring at Wukong as he trembled in his spot. The king smiled nervously, "Y'know what? Go ahead, buddy." Tang erupted, spewing information on the Samadhi FIre. Wukong jumped back in, "Uh, yeah. So, Red Son created it! I think we should release it again."
Macaque examined the map, "The Samadhi rings, huh? So where are they?" Wukong stared at the vague locations, grinning to himself, "Man am I glad I understand nonsense like this. Okay, so first stop is DBK's place."
---
Wukong groaned, lying face-up on the ground. Sandy leaned over, worry etched in his face, "You okay, Mr. Monkey King?"
The monkey whined. He'd forgotten the downsides to being born from the earth and heavens. His stone body was incompatible with water, causing him to sink and feel sea sick despite being over the ocean instead of on it.
"Sea sick...s'all..."
The friendly giant frowned, "Hm... I'll bring some medicine and ginger tea. That should help at least a little, just hold on tight!" He turned, leaving the other alone. Wukong continued to whine until the blue demon returned.
After taking the medicine and awkwardly drinking tea with a cool cloth on his forehead, he actually did start to feel better.
Wukong struggled to sit up, suddenly bending his waist at dizzying speeds. Sandy chuckled, "Movements weird, Mr. Monkey King?" The monkey sighed, nodding slowly, "Yeah... Mind if I have some more tea, big guy?"
---
Mei jumped in, startling the king into accidentally crushing his cup of tea, "Monkey King! Hey! Wanna see a baby video? Cool!" She shoved her phone into his face, and one of his legs kicked out, nearly kicking MK. As the video played, the king couldn't help but coo loudly, "Oh my gods... This is just like when MK had his hand stuck in his toy bus!"
MK flushed, squeaking, "Huh?! How'd you know that?!" Macaque blinked owlishly, unsure of how this conversation was going to go.
Wukong took the dragon girl's phone, watching the baby compilation with an absurd amount of affection in his eyes, "Oh, I used to watch over you guys. Baby MK, baby Mei, baby Red Son--" Mei took her phone back, eyes wide, "Wait... It was you! You were the imaginary friend!"
MK and Mei looked at each other before turning to the other adults, "See? We told you he was real!" Pigsy gawked, "Huh?! You were watchin' over 'em? Why?" Wukong sighed dreamily, chin in his hands, "Red Son is basically my nephew. Mei is Ao Lie's family, MK was placed with you guys, and Sandy, Tang, and you are reincarnations of my friends."
