It started with a Foster Child

Chapter 12

Jaymi Pov

I pulled along the street chatting to Josh about everyone going for a meal later so that Gabi gets to know everyone better, and i looked along the streets to see black smoke bellowing out of the front door i screamed and put my foot down to the ground making the car go about 80mph within a few seconds i was parked across the road to my house watching the flames through the window, tears streamed down my cheek.

*jaymi, is there anyone in there* josh looked at me eyes full of worry

*Yes, Gabi and George* i just managed to speak i was froze my Foster child and best friend where in a burning fire i jumped out the car as i heard josh say my address he was obviously speaking to fire service. I screamed George and Gabi's name as i ran towards the burning building, Josh ran behind me as i was about to enter the house

*Jaymi you cannot go in there*

*Josh im not leaving Gabi and George to die*

I wriggled out of Josh's grip and messed with the door handle desperately trying get it, but it was no use the wood just wouldn't open and was slightly warm from the fire inside i took a step back and began to kick the door, it eventually gave way way and smoke bellowed out the door and all i could see inside was orange flames, i couldn't see George or Gabi anywhere.

*GEORGE, GABI* i shouted at the top of my voice, when i heard nothing back i had no choice i had to go into help them i pulled my jacket over my mouth and stepped into the front room it was boiling, and i could see nothing because of the smoke, i made my way by the sofa which was up in flames and began to chock i ran towards the front door for air.

*josh i need help i think there upstairs* Josh nodded and followed me into the flames, Josh headed towards the kitchen where the flames were the worse literally chocking and he was desperate for air. I managed to find my way towards the stairs,the flames were all over them, there was no chance of me getting up and making it out alive. I tryed to stand on the second step and it began to give way on me under the heat , i jumped backwards screaming, filling my lungs with smoke. I heard Serene coming towards the house, i made myself get out otherwise it would be more people for them to rescue.

Once i managed to fight the flames and get outside there were two fire trucks outside and men were pulling the hose of the side one man quickly darted across the street and was by my side within seconds. *Is there anybody else in the building* I nodded my head unable to speak, just coughing *How many* i manged to chock out a *three* the man shouted across the round *There are three people inside call for back up* The man leanded down and carried me across the street and lay me down next to a fireman. Before rushing back across, a tear rolled down my cheek as i thought about Josh, George and Gabi stuck in a burning building i was struggling to breathe, i just hope Gabi and George are still alive, they have been in the smoke for ages.

Josh Pov

I struggled to breathe but i was not leaving George or Gabi inside this building, I picked my jacket up further to cover my face, to make my way up the stairs. I placed my first foot on the step and i was grabbed by someone within seconds i was outside, i felt my leg burning, once i looked down i could see it was on fire so i began to roll around the floor remembering the little fire safety i learnt at school. Within seconds the flame was out but my leg was really sore and my jeans were melted to the skin. No matter the pain i was in i tryed to get up to enter the house again i needed to save Gabi and George i cannot just lie here while they could be getting burned alive. I jumped up and a fireman stopped me before i could get in the door 

*You cannot enter the building we are doing everything we can*

I shook my head *I cannot just wait here while they are stuck in there*

*You can not enter the building, we don't need more people to reassure the fire fighters are entering the building* I watched as 5 men went into the building and was pulled onto a wheelchair and took to the back of ambulance.

Jaymi Pov

I watched as they carried Gabi out of the building, she was coughing and struggling for breathe but i was happy to see her alive i tryed to make my way across the road to where she was with the paramedics but was stopped by a fireman, why wouldn't they let me get to her i need to know what is happening

*Please she is my foster child, i need to know if she is ok*

*Wait here sir, i will go and ask* I stood watching Gabi gasp for air, whilst 3 paramedics crowded around her body placing many things on her body. I turned to the house as i heard something shatter and the flames were getting worse no matter how much water was been sprayed onto my house it just seemed to get worse, and they still hadn't got George out. When i heard another shatter i screamed across the road *GEORGE* but there was no response i felt useless. IF i got back from shopping quicker i could of stopped it from happening.  i got snapped away from my thoughts whenI saw a faint body making away through the flames and smoke.

Within a few seconds i saw the fire fighters uniform and he was carrying a body i screamed Georges name once more, causing me to choke because my lungs still had smoke in them. I watch the fires fighter lay Georges body on the floor and it just flopped down it was lifeless, tears streamed down my cheek as i watched a paramedic start to do CPR on my best mate.
