It started with a Foster Child

Gabrielle is a normal 14year old who became a orphan at 8 year old after both parents died in a car crash on there way to work. Unfortunately the only family Gabrielle has are her auntie and cousin but her auntie could not take care of her because she couldn't afford to bring up another child. Therefore Gabrielle has been put in many foster home but has not been able to settle.

Gabrielle Pov

I look around my room and I was not going to miss this Foster family, they were so strict and expected me to call them mum and dad but I was not going to my parents died when I was 8 and nobody was going to replace them. I did feel alittle bad for kicking of an running away but I don't want to listen to them the only way I was going to get out of this foster family was by getting my social worker Sally to listen and running off was the only way to make that happen.

I collected my belonging which was not much a few clothes and a photo album full of photos of me with my parents. I looked across the room to see april my foster mum crying I gave her a quick hug and made my way through to the living room to where my social worker sally was sitting down sipping a cup of coffee.

Sally looked up and saw that I had my bag full of belongs *are you ready* I nodded and headed to the door before leaving I said bye to my foster family. As soon as the door shut I felt better and just hoped the next foster family are nice this is my 9th foster home I just wanted to settle down but no one want to adopt a 14year old that had many issues.

*Gabrielle I have a foster home set up for you* I was alittle shocked that someone wanted to take me in so quick it was only this morning I ran away my social worker was good I gulped before speaking

*Are they nice* I don't know why I ask as I always get told there nice even when they are not

*They are lovely its two men there a gay couple*

*What* I shouted I didn't mind gay people but I didn't think they were aloud to foster, this was definitely going to be a challenge, im use to having a mum figure in my life.

*They are really nice, I know you will be able to settle with them and they are after adopting so you might be able to stop there and have a permanent home*

*Do they live close* I hoped that the social worker said no I actually wanted to move out the area and start a new school I wanted a fresh start

*No hun, they live in London so we have a couple of hours drive*

yes I thought to myself a new start, and my cousin lives in London, so I would know someone my auntie lived in London to but I haven't spoke to her since I got old enough to know she refused to take me in an left me stuck in the adoption system. I placed my headphones over my head and lay back closing my eyes, going to sleep seems a better option than a boring car journey with the social worker.

I heard the social worker whispering my name, i slowly opened my eyes and we were parked up. I removed my headphones and placed them in my hand bang.

*Time to meet your new family, remember if you need me ring me * Sally spoke and gave me a reassuring look, i nodded and jumped out the car grabbing my bag and heading towards the boot for my suitcase. I was about to open the boot as two men stood in front of me.

*Gabrielle meet Jaymi and Olly your foster carers* I looked across from sally and too the two men they looked nice of my first impressions *Hi, im Jaymi and this is Olly* One boy said whilst standing a few feet in front of me i smiled before replying *Hi, im Gabrellie but please call me Gabi* Jaymi quickly spoke *Well nice to meet you Gabi, do you want come look at your new home* i nodded and followed them both towards the house, as Sally followed behind dragging my suitcase. I walked upto the house and it looked really nice from the outside and i noticed three cars in the driveway.

*Gabrielle im going to leave you, please ring me if you need to, i will ring in the morning and visit next week to make sure you are ok* I nodded to Sally who left my suitcase and walked down the drive and drove of in the car, i was alittle nervous on my own with my new foster carers i hated meeting new people.
