THINGS SETTLED DOWN ONCE OCTOBER CAME AROUND. Most Slytherins stopped caring about Cassiopeia and stopped sneering at her any time she was in the common room. Pansy and Draco were still being rude to her but, due to the massive amounts of homework they had and Blaise and Daphne being her friends, they hardly ever saw each other. Daphne and Blaise stuck by her during meals and in the common room, making her feel more comfortable.

She never realized how much fun Daphne and Blaise were. They weren't stuck up like many other kids in their year and they enjoyed the things she did. She had never been able to talk about the latest Witch Weekly articles or the new Weird Sisters song with Draco or her siblings. They never cared for any of the things she liked.

"Are you coming to Quidditch practice tomorrow, Cass?" Blaise asked one Friday afternoon as he, Daphne, and Cassiopeia walked to Charms. "Gryffindor's practice is right after ours."

"Oh, you have to come," Daphne practically begged. A mild annoyance took over her face, "I'll be bored out of my mind without you. Their practices are all the same."

Cassiopeia laughed. She remembered all the times she would watch her siblings and Draco during practices. It was always so boring that she would've rather done her Potions homework instead. She nodded, "Sure, I'll go. I'm watching Gryffindor with Hermione and Eleanor if you'd like to join."

"That'll be great. I've been looking forward to properly meeting your cousin and your friends," Daphne beamed. She'd been eagerly wanting to meet Cassiopeia's other friends but was waiting for the right opportunity to bring it up. Daphne didn't care about house rivalries and believed they should all get along, but it was hard with Slytherin's reputation. "Do they like Licorice Wands?"

"If you bring Licorice Wands tomorrow, Daphne Greengrass, I will propose." Cassiopeia joked. It was no secret she loved the sweet treat.

"Maybe you shouldn't bring Licorice Wands, Daph," Blaise swung his arm around Daphne's shoulders. "I kind of want to keep my girlfriend. Cass can't steal you that easily."

Cassiopeia playfully flipped her hair over her shoulder, "What can I say? I'm irresistible, Zabini."

The trio erupted into laughter as they approached the Charms classroom. Flitwick was standing outside the door, cheerfully greeting his students and ushering them into the classroom. They went to enter but Cassiopeia saw something that made her stop dead in her tracks.

Peeking out from behind a column down the hall were Eleanor and Kennedy. Eleanor had a lopsided smile on her face and her hands were laced with Kennedy's. But what made Cassiopeia's jaw drop was when Kennedy kissed Eleanor on the cheek.

She had been growing skeptical of the pair for a while now. It started with small things such as Eleanor showing up to class with her hair slightly messy or blushing furiously whenever anyone mentioned Kennedy. Her cousin's behavior was strange as well. She showed up late to one of their study sessions in the library without her tie. Cassiopeia didn't even flinch at the tie but at the fact that Eleanor had come late.
