I hear the roaring of the crowd as i jump on top of the girls as an own goal is scored in the 76th minute, solidifying our quarter final and winning our group.

The final whistle finally blows as we all rush and cheer in a group, celebrating our victory.
"Lets fucking go" i shout, running over and jumping on top of Leah, sending us both tumbling to the floor.
"Y/n, you fucking idiot" leah says breathlessly as she hits the floor, the wind slightly knocked out of her before she begins chuckling.
"We did it le, we are actually in the quarter finals" i say picking her up, wrapping my arms around her and swinging us around.
I finally place her down, a big smile plastered on both our faces as we stare at eachother. My hands placed firmly on her hips as her arms are still wrapped around my neck, our hot breath on eachothers faces.

"Y/n! Leah!" Someone shouts snapping us out of our trance. We both let go, our faces turning a slight shade of red as we face the person who was calling our names.
There stood Keira, staring at us with a confused look on her face.
"Erm, they need you both for the interview" she says, before walking off, her head turning back towards us every now and then.
"Lets go then" i say, smiling towards the blonde, holding my hand out towards her
She slowly grabs my hand before we walk off, myself linking our fingers together.

You see, me and Leah have spent nearly every second together, its like she knew exactly what i went through. She is all i needed.

We walk through the corridors, the roar of the crowds still echoing behind us as we walk towards the media room, ready for the post match interview to begin.
We stop outside of the media room, Leah leading the way. Her hand slowly moves to touch the handle, but it's hesitant. A slight look of panic covering the normally confident defenders face. I squeeze her hand slightly for reasurance and let go slowly, placing my arm lightly on her back, letting her know i was with her.
She finally pushes open the door, the crowds of reporters swarming the small room. The flashing of cameras temporarily blinding me before im used to the bright light.

"Leah. Wow, what a match, how do you feel leading the lionesses to the quarter final in the euros?" A young male reporter asks the captain.
"Its an unreal feeling, i cant express how proud i am to be captain of this amazing team. The team has really put in a shift today, giving us the confidence and push we need as we look to go up against Spain" Leah replies, her confidence coming back with every word she speaks.

"Y/n. Your first euros quarter final. How does it feel to be put in this position?" Another reporter asks, his deep voice echoing in the microphone.
"Its unbelievable. I couldnt have been prouder of the team. We work day in and day out to be in the position we are now. All focus on our game against Spain of course" i reply, my confidence shining through.
"Do you feel guilty taking Millie Bright's place? Do you think you deserve it?" The same reporter asks, a sly smirk resting upon his face.
"Me and the rest of the defenders work our asses off every day to earn our place in the team. Ive looked up to Millie my whole life, she is an incredible player and i have so much to learn from her. I would not be played if Sarina thought i didnt deserve it or wasnt good enough. Dont ask such a fucking stupid question next time, old man." I reply, wiping the smirk off the mans face instantly, one forming on my own face.

"Right i think thats enough for the day" Leah says, grabbing my hand and gently pulling me out of the media room.
"You ok?" Leah says, now us standing outside of the media room. Both her hands holding gently onto mine, her eyes staring directly into mine, almost searching for something.
"Of course" i reply, being truthful towards the blonde, sqeezing her hand gently.
She finally breaths out, releasing the breath she was holding.
My hand moves towards her face, my hand resting on the side of her face and my thumb rubbing her cheek gently. Our eyes stare towards eachother, none of us daring to look away. I begin leaning in, Leah's eyes gently closing as we get closer towards eachother.

Suddenly a door swings open, Sarina stood in front of us, a smile resting upon her lips. We quickly move away from eachother, hoping Sarina didnt see anything.
"Y/n, are you ok?" She says, staring up towards me, a look of sympathy on her face.
"Yes, of course" i say, smiling awkwardly towards my manager.
"Are you both ready for the Spain game then?" She says, smiling towards us, obviously attempting to make conversation, something our manager never does.
"Yes, i cant wait to see Alexia, she promised to come to the game. And Mapi, i cant wait to see my best friend" i say, glancing towards Leah, seeing her face drop quickly, a look of fear covering her face.
"I, erm, ive got to go" Leah says, quickly dropping my hand and speed walking off, leaving me and Sarina stood together, a look of confusion covering both of our faces.

I wonder what that was about...
