Chapter 9

"Okay, we need to talk about what happened today." CJ started talking.
After dinner, CJ and I were in our bedroom while CJ's parents were out of the apartment. After what happened this afternoon, CJ's parents came back from the water park and then we had dinner, just like a normal day. But my mind was so full of questions that my brain could explode. I didn't said anything to CJ's parents, it was embarrassing and probably they would tell my parents as a "joke". CJ kept herself quiet during the dinner, I thanked her in my mind for that. After dinner, CJ's parents told us they would go to the inside pool, and they wanted us to stay at the apartment for the night.
"And talk about what? He just left us alone without any explanation today. So he doesn't like me back. End of the story."
"Jasmin, he probably was just trying to still understand this whole situation, and so, he needed some space to think. Besides, he just broke up with his girlfriend, he can't just be with you in the same day. That's not how it works."
I took a deep breath. She was right after all, like she always was.
"So I better just give up then. He knows I like him, you said it in the phone call. But he didn't even said anything about it, like my feelings don't even matter."
After a pause, I said next:
"We should get ready to go to sleep. I'm tired and this was a long day."
CJ just gave up and agreed with my idea. Even though I wanted to sleep, my mind couldn't stop thinking about everything.
"Listen Jasmin, I know you're still awake. If he doesn't try to talk with you tomorrow, then he is not worth it, okay?"
"Alright CJ, you're right."
"I am always right Jasmin." She said with a smile.
The next day, I woke up with a headache, which wasn't a good sign. I just didn't wanted to do anything that day, just lay on my bed and watch series the rest of the day.
"Come on Jasmin, get up. You're not going to stay here all day. You said this vacation is focused on us, so don't be sad because of a stupid boy." CJ said.
With all my strengths, I got up and started getting ready for the day. Not only because CJ told me to, but also because her parents would think that something was not right, and then they would find out what happened.
At breakfast time, I didn't saw Maddox anywhere, so I started to get even more nervous. So after breakfast, I decided to call his apartment again, I just couldn't help myself. I called CJ to come with me if something went wrong and I needed her at some point. When I talked to the same employee as yesterday, he said something that made me confused.
"I'm sorry, I wish I could help, but he is not here anymore."
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"His vacation is over I suppose, he probably went back home. He and his family just left the hotel this morning."
Hearing those words made my entire body freeze. How was this possible? No, this couldn't be happening.
"Damn. I'm sorry Jasmin." CJ said, hugging me.
Tears started dropping down my eyes as I hugged her back.
