"Ready to go back to school?" CJ asked in the phone call.
"Girl, I am never ready." I said joking.
"I gotta go, see you there."
"Alright, bye." And I ended the call.
During the rest of the summer vacation, I was most of the time thinking about Maddox. But I said to myself that probably, I would never see him again. Which was true, because most of the girls already got that kind of feeling, right?
On my first class after summer vacation, (that was math, great) I saw CJ already seated and I sat next to her. At least I already knew that I would had this class with her.
"Students, I would like your attention to our new student in this class, and also in this school. He came from California so we all need to be friendly to him alright?" The teacher announced under the loud noise of her students.
At the moment I saw Maddox enter our classroom, I couldn't even breathe. CJ and I looked at him and then at each other.
"Oh. My. God." We both said in the same time.
Maddox looked at everyone in the class, including CJ and I. He recognized us in just one second, by the face he made, raising his eyebrows. He seated next to CJ and I like it was nothing.
"Wow, what a small world we live in, right?" He said.
"Maddox, you really screwed up in the summer vacation, especially with Jasmin." CJ said, kinda mad.
"I know, I'm sorry Jasmin, I was really an idiot for letting you without any answers after breaking up with Sophie."
"It's fine." I accepted, looking down.
"No it's not." CJ started again. "Look, I don't give a shit if we are in class right now. I need to know...Maddox, you liked Jasmin at all when you two met?"
What was she doing!? CJ couldn't out of nowhere just ask him if he likes him, right? She didn't even waited for my permission. Maybe because she was tired of all of this situation.
I just covered my face with my hands, waiting for him to say no or something.
"Well...I don't know..." He said, with red cheeks.
Was he blushing? I think so, but I didn't had sure.
The rest of the class we all kept quiet, maybe for embarrassment, or maybe we were just tired of math class.
At lunch time, I met CJ after 3 classes without her. At least we could talk at lunch together.
"CJ, why did you just randomly asked Maddox if he liked me?"
Because Jasmin, I am tired of this whole situation honestly. And he was so stupid of just left without a warning and then never tried to find you again."
I kept myself quiet, she was right, again.
