"HQ to Alien 1." The voice in my ear says, clear and loud. "Please confirm the visuals."
"A green and blue planet looks a bit smaller than ours. It has one moon." I watch as several big pieces of machinery orbit around the planet. "They seem to be using primitive technology. Satellites."
"Nice job Alien 1, you've made the Nyzaian people proud." The commander responds, "This will be a day in Nyza's history books."
"Yes. Thank you, Commander." I tap my earpiece once, muting my voice. I breathe in deeply, taking in the sight.
Floating around in space outside of a spaceship, looking down upon a brand new planet. It's just wonderful. I've wanted to do this ever since I was a kid.
Our country is one of the most advanced in the galaxy, boasting over a thousand conquered planets. We are the galaxies' biggest empire.
I watch as the scout ship draws closer to me, preparing to take off. I have to go. I frown, looking down upon the planet one last time. How beautiful.
I squint my eyes as I see something fast approaching in the distance. Another spaceship?
Bullets fly from it, hitting my scout ship and puncturing holes in it. I raise my eyebrows in surprise.
It's from Earth. They somehow got past our stealth trackers and spotted us. I laugh, jumping into the driver's seat of my ship.
No matter. Their defenses last much longer.
I press a button on my ship, activating a missile. It soars into space, hitting the target dead on. The weapon from Earth explodes into pieces.
I turn the vessel around, heading straight for the planet.
"Alien 1, what are you doing?" My commander demands sternly. "Return to mothership immediately."
"One second, I'll just take a look." I take off my earpiece. I was too curious about this new planet, and I just had to see it in person.
My eyes widen as I enter the atmosphere of the planet and the clouds part, revealing what was underneath.
Beautiful bodies of water sparkle in the sunlight, contrasting against the green mountains that run alongside them. Small, white creatures fly and swim in the water, making small noises.
My nose wrinkles in distaste as I see a huge pile of muck enter the liquid, scaring away the creatures. It was coming from the city in the distance, no doubt. They hadn't figured out a way to solve pollution yet, it seemed.
How basic.
I zoom through the sky and reach the city, flying side to side to avoid skyscrapers. I look down in amusement as people point up at my aircraft.
Scary for them, for sure, but fun for me.
I laugh, satisfied with my view of the planet. I pull up, heading back to the mothership. I leave the atmosphere in a blaze.
I meet a furious commander ready to give me an earful back at HQ.
"Are you kidding me? You let them know of our presence?" The commander shouts, deeply troubled. "We were still assessing their combat abilities!"
"They shouldn't be a problem, sir." I respond quietly, "They're technology is far less than ours."
The commander sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. "You're way too much sometimes."
I smile, nodding. "Nice planet though."
"Not for long." The commander turns his back to me and orders the weapons department.
"Destroy it."
