Brooke was rushed to the hospital. Lacey kept on crying and didn’t know what to do. George arrived there the moment their helper told him what happened. He left an important business meeting to make sure if Brooke is safe or not.

The couple was sitting down the waiting area when the doctor came out of the Emergency Room. When they saw him, they stood up and went near him.

“Are you the parents of the patient?”

“Yes. Is she alright?”

“She lost quite a lot of blood but she’s alright now. She needs to rest here first for a couple of days so that we could observe her vital signs first. I’m also advising you to let a psychologist check up on her.”

“Alright, we’ll do that just to make sure that she’ll be safe from harm.” George said and the doctor left them.

After a while, Brooke was brought out of the Emergency Room and was transferred into a private room. George and Lacey stayed there until the night. Their helper just brought them food and clothes so that they won’t need to go home anymore. They gave Brooke all the attention that she needs as the psychologist suggested.

“Why bother giving this kind of attention when I know that you’ll stop giving me this kind of treatment the moment you’ll know that I’m completely healthy already?”

“Don’t say that Brooke. You know that we love you and that we’ll do everything for you.”

“Everything? Then why don’t you just let me die? That’s what I want.”

“Brooke, we’ll do everything except that. We love you so much and we won’t allow you to leave us just like that. We want to grow old with you. We want to see you as a successful person and a successful mother as well.”

“How am I supposed to become a successful mother if you don’t like my boyfriend at all?!”

“We’re not telling you to become a mother right now!”

“Yeah right. Whatever.” Brooke shrugged and closed her eyes.

The doctor went in after a while and told George and Lacey that Brooke is fine already. She was brought back into their house the moment the doctor told her parents that her vital signs are stable. Unexpectedly, one of her cousins visited her and talked to her about anything under the sun.

"What if I try to kill myself again?"

"Then the whole world would be in grief."

"I want to think of other ways on how to kill myself."

"Go ahead cuz. I'll just give you reasons on why not to do it."

"I know now. I'll drink many medicines so that I'll be overdosed."

"The moment we bring you to the hospital, they'll clean up your stomach and tada! You're good as new."

"Ah. Wait! I'll just hang myself from the ceiling."

"You're eyes will bulge out, you're tongue will go out and you'll just look awful."

"Ugh. I'll just use a knife and insert it all over my body."

"That's just so like eww. And the pain you'll be feeling would be so much."

"I'll shoot myself using a gun!"

"You're face will be destroyed and people won't even bother looking at your ruins."

"I'll just jump from the top of a building."

"If you end up being alive, then you just humiliated yourself. Oh, and if you end up being dead, your body parts might be all over the place!"

“Why do you keep on telling me these stupid reasons for not doing a way of killing myself?”

“I told you I’ll say everything to make you not do it right?”

“Yes, I could remember that but why do you care in the first place?”

“Cause I’m your cousin!”

“You’re just a cousin so you don’t have a right to tell me what to do and what not to do.”

“But I love you!”

“Yeah right. People keep on telling me that they love me but what? They keep on doing things that hurt me.”
“But I won’t hurt you. I promise I’m always here for you.”

“Aish. Go here beside me.” Brooke’s cousin, Agnes, went near Brooke and blinked her eyes. She’s just 6 years old but she knows a lot things. Brooke hugged her and she hugged her back.
