TREVORS POV
so, me, Derek, and his girlfriend Maxine decided to go to the beach today. I know, it's a friday and it's gonna be overcrowded bla bla bla. Well, we were bored and we all had a day off work so this is what we decided to do.
"Got the sunscreen babe?" Maxine asks Derek. She and Derek get sunburnt really easily. I'm less prone to it then them though.
"Yep, not trying to bathe in aloe vera tonight." He jokes.
We walk into the sand area after getting our stuff. We find a spot to set down our stuff.
"Race ya!" I say, sprinting towards the water.
"Hey! That's not fair! I'm still getting my sunscreen on!" He shouts, quickly smearing it all over his face and shoulders. By the time he gets done I'm already halfway there. (Like I said, it's pretty crowded.)
He soon catches up with me, and we're neck and neck.
"Damn, you got a headstart and yet I'm still gonna win!" He teases.
"Nuh uh!" I shout back, speeding up. I eventually make it there first. "Yes! I won!"
"Thats only because I was putting on my sunscreen." He says, playfully rolling his eyes.
"Mhm, sureee." I say sarcastically.
We walk back to where our stuff is set up, only for Maxine to not be there.
"Where's Maxine at?" I ask Derek.
"I don't know, probably in the bathroom or something." He replies.
"Oh." I say. "Well, I'm gonna go get us some ice-cream. What flavor you want?"
"Strawberry, duh." He teases.
I gag. "I can't believe you like that flavor."
"Well my taste buds enjoy it. Tastes yummyliciois, or whatever."
I burst out laughing. "Well, my taste buds think chocolate is 'yummylicious'"
"Whatever, dingdong. Just go get the ice cream." He jokes "Oh, and I think Maxine wants mint chocolate chip."
I walk over to the snack stand. It's really busy, so I have to wait a while. While I'm waiting, I see Maxine on the phone with someone.
Well might as well go confirm that she wants mint, I think to myself. I walk towards her, and I start hearing what she's saying.
I don't exactly know what the context was, but I'm very sure I heard, "of course babe, I'll be there at 5."
Babe??? Is she on the phone with Derek??? And what at five?
I sneak up behind her and take out my phone to record her. Hopefully it picks up what she's saying.
"Bernies diner? Yep, sounds good. Can't wait to have this date night! Love you babe." She says, hanging up and waking towards the beach.
