"Y/n darling, how have you been? Are you doing fine out in the field? I'm...sorry I can't do much for the both of us."

"Don't say that, Rei. I'm doing fine as ever! You don't need to worry about me. Promise!"

"I'm very lucky to have you by my side. What am I gonna do without you, Y/n?"

"You've been doing a lot for me. You just can't see it, love. As long as you are here, talking to me, pouring me your love and attention, I feel safe and happy living a simple life. Trust my word."

"I do trust you, darling. That's how much I love you."

"Hey, I'm sorry I can't bring you to your place quickly. I don't really use my car whenever I go to work." Reigen said in an upset tone as he walked beside Y/n who had regained her beating heart.

She responded, focusing her view on the path they were taking, "It's okay. Walking is better to forget about something anyway. Oh... I think I'm forgetting something."

As they both stopped walking, Reigen hummed a question, placing his gaze at the woman who was thinking deeply to herself. "What is it? Should we go back to that area and look for it? ...On second thought, I don't think that's a good idea."

Y/n replied, "No, I forgot to tell you that I used my apartment key to injure him. It was a matter of self-defense..! I didn't actually want to harm him, but I had to. So... there's no point in going to my place right now."

"I understand. If you are comfortable enough, you can stay at my place for tonight. You need the most rest between us, Y/n." Reigen said in a tone that was enough to convince her. He didn't sound insistent but his presence showed her a warm image of home. Y/n agreed without placing any doubt on this man.

Reigen took the lead in heading to where he currently lives. It's almost the same building layout as where Y/n lives; An apartment with two floors and had an open parking lot in front, but it was not the exact duplicate of her place.

Opening his apartment door, Reigen said, "Welcome to... hmm, I don't know what to call it. Welcome home..? You can sit anywhere. If you need water or food, just tell me and I'll bring it to you."

Y/n took off her shoes and walked around until she found somewhere to rest her feet from walking. "Thanks for letting me stay here, Reigen. And... Thank you for defending me back there."

After Reigen opened the air conditioner in the living room, he looked at Y/n and said with a relieved smile, "Maybe I could have done something better for you but... you're welcome!"

He then sat across her, releasing a breath as he relaxed his back a little on the coziness of the chair. Then, Reigen opened a topic, saying, "Well, if you don't mind, can I ask you a few questions? It's about the man a while ago."

"Are you curious about what he said about me before he was caught?" Y/n asked with an innocent look on her face. He slightly nodded, holding eye contact with the woman.

"I trust you, so I guess I can say it to you. Oh, It's not that I'm hiding but...I am not a normal human being, Reigen." she said, a tiny hopeful smile forming on her lips as she spoke to the man who had a nonjudgmental face.
