"What are you trying to say?! Obviously, I'm not the wrong one here!" Reigen shouted as he was talking to someone on the other end of the line. His anger was clear on his expression.
He clicked his tongue and continued to speak with a raised voice, "Oh, screw that! I don't care about all that. Just fix your own goddamn problem, will you?! I don't have anything to do with this."
Reigen dropped his phone on his desk once he abruptly ended the call. He took off his gray blazer and loosened his necktie. With no one else inside the office currently present other than himself, he lit up a cigarette as he laid his back on the couch.
He released a tired sigh with the cigarette in between his index and middle finger. Reigen said under his breath with a raspy voice, "I can't be this stressed out in the middle of the afternoon. Tch."
With a few smokes blown, he was indeed relaxing his mind. It had been a while since he took out a cigarette and used it to satisfy his stressed body. Maybe his mental state was needy for his comrades to accompany him through the lonesome atmosphere?
A light knock was then heard by the door to his left. In a wrong state of mind, Reigen got up and swung open the door, about to yell at the person disturbing his time, however he was stopped from doing so as his eyes met again the immortal woman.
"Hey, Reigen! Uhm... What's wrong?" Y/n said with her vibrant face turning confused as she saw the man's guilty-looking gesture. He was frozen in place for a good second before returning to his usual self.
"I-uh.. Hi." Reigen responded, concealing his irritated look just now from the phone call and replaced it with a delighted smile. "Sorry, I was just tired. What brings you here, Y/n?"
"No reason really. I just happened to pass by and here I am. Mind if I come inside?" she replied, taking a glance at the office behind Reigen that she loved going to. He didn't hesitate and let the pleased woman inside with no further delay.
She walked around and appreciated the interior of the office before plopping herself down on the singular chair that was parallel to the couch. "Are Mob and Serizawa out for today?" Y/n asked.
Reigen was facing his back to Y/n as he placed the cigarette on the ashtray. "Hmm, Mob has his hands occupied with school works. As for Serizawa, he took his day off." he answered, turning around to hold eye contact with the woman in the conversation.
"Ah, I see. So you're working all alone inside the office for today. Are you okay with that?" the woman said, following the movement of the man with her eyes as he sat down on the couch.
Reigen just shrugged his shoulder and replied to her question, "I'm used to it. It's not that I'll force them to come to work. How about you? Shouldn't you be resting before heading to work?"
"Well, this is where I rest. Besides, it's about 3 hours from now. I don't have anything to do. I might as well spend time with you." Y/n answered with an indirect emotion towards the man.
Reigen then snapped his fingers and said with a bright smile on his lips, "I know what we can do to pass the time! I saw a job offer collecting some dust on my desktop. Why don't we clear that off the table together?"
Y/n hummed a noise before saying, "As long as you don't go dying on me." Reigen smiled once more at the woman and responded with a casual tone, "You shouldn't worry about that, Y/n. If I died, who would be the one protecting you?"
