"𝙸𝚝 𝚆𝚊𝚜 𝙽𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛 𝚈𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝙵𝚊𝚞𝚕𝚝."

"Y/n? Why are you here?" Reigen questioned the woman who was observing his state from afar. With the towel hanging around his neck, he used it to wipe away the sweat on his forehead.

Y/n's face twisted to a concerned and nervous expression. She said as her voice was hesitant to speak of it, "Are you feeling okay? Reigen, are you sick?"

He released an awkward chuckle, avoiding to hold eye contact with her as he answered, "I-It's just a cold. It will wear down by tomorrow! I'm... fine." In just a short moment from getting out of bed, Reigen felt nauseous and his body weakened.

He felt his vision spinning around, letting him lost grip of the door as his main support for him to stand upright. Y/n instantly moved to catch him from worsening his state. "Reigen!" she uttered upon saving him from his fall.

"I... I'm alright." Reigen said with a tired voice. Y/n could feel his whole body shaking. His heat was obvious that it was more than just a cold. Why was he so persistent to look fine?

"Stop talking and rest." Y/n went ahead and invited herself inside his apartment unit. She laid him on the couch which was the nearest thing he could lie on comfortably and rest his burning limbs.

Once he had his back relaxed on the cushioned couch, his breathing got worse. He couldn't catch his breath and was close to passing out. Y/n sat on the floor beside him and held his hand tightly. "I promise I won't let you die." she whispered to herself as she was reminded of something.

' This cannot be happening again! Why is it always the exact same thing? Can't he at least live while I suffer quietly? '

Y/n gritted her teeth, shutting her eyes, as her forehead touched the side of Reigen's warm and frail hand. "Reigen, I'll just get some water and towel to put on your forehead. Wait for me, okay? I'll be back." she said with a gentle voice, resembling a caring mother.

The desperate woman hurried her movement as the weak Reigen was waiting for her return. There was no time for her to reflect on this unpredictable event. She had a premonition that this would eventually happen. Every other version of him died in an unfortunate death. There was never a happy ending for her.

"Y/n..." Reigen blurted out with his voice aching as well. She ran to his side, sat down, and placed the folded warm towel on top of his forehead to calm down his high fever.

"It's okay! It's okay. Reigen, you're strong, aren't you? You'll live through this!" Y/n replied with a smile on her face but her eyes were forming tears around the edge.

He saw how broken she was. She might completely lose it if ever something bad happened to him. Being immortal was never appreciated by Y/n. She hated it with all her life and didn't care about it. It may be helpful to others but it came with a price.

"I thought you wouldn't want to see me again after everything that happened yesterday." Reigen said. His eyes glued to her expression of an eccedentesiast.

Y/n then replied, "I came here to apologize. I'm sorry, Reigen. I'm... really sorry..!" Her smile fading to a remorseful frown. It was filled with guilt and pure sadness.

"I understand what you're going through. It must have been really difficult for you, huh. Seeing the person you loved who died, come back to life repetitively would make me go insane. Y/n, I admire you for getting this far in life."
