A/n: some truth coming to the surface again 👀

"I am scared, Finneas. I've realised I have feelings for her and I don't know what to do" Billie said feeling the stress going through her veins

"I'm sorry, but you can't do anything about it and you shouldn't even try to. Why can't you just accept the fact that you feel something special for her?" The ginger haired asked.

"Because Marcus still wants her. When she told me about the papers, I was planning not to tell him about them. He didn't know that Noah had those anyway, so I had to hide the whole situation from him" Billie explained to her brother

"And how did he find out?" He asked intrigued

"I made the mistake of telling Brandon. I thought I could trust him, but he was apparently mad about that scene at the party. The plan was for him to scare Ava and she would run to me so we could talk about where she had been with her friends that day. When he told me he wanted to have his way with her, I thought he was joking, but when I saw them in the same room I felt demons in my head. He was high and stupid enough to tell our boss about what I was hiding from him and that's how I ended up being beaten till I almost fell unconscious. I am so lucky Ava took care of me."

"And why is all of this Ava's fault?" Finneas asked

"He thinks she knows something. She basically knows, but only what the fool of me was able to tell her. Most of it were lies and I feel horrible for doing that, but I was scared. Scared that she'll hate me." Billie confessed, getting deeper in her thoughts

"I don't get it Billie, and I'm sorry for asking that, but if your boss wants her, why won't he just take her?" Finneas asked

"Because he's scared. He's scared of her father. After another member of his family died because of unknown reasons, he fought like hell to get more influential. And he did. If something happens with his daughter, I'm sure he'll burn down the whole city just to find the guilty one." Billie explained

"It's kinda crazy to believe you when you're also telling me stories of how she's telling her parents that she's at a friend's house when she's actually with you" Finneas sighs.

Billie has just discovered something and she was contemplating whether to tell her brother or not because she knew that he'll get concerned.

"Here's the thing, after I picked her up from the gas station that night, I noticed a car following us. I didn't tell her because I thought it was just in my mind, but when I woke up in the morning, I looked on the video cameras just to see the same car parked across the street in front of my house.

I thought it was someone hired by my boss, so I decided to take care of it and went outside. I was lucky that I didn't pull out the gun on him because when I told that asshole to leave, he shoved a police badge in my face and told me to mind my business" Billie explained

"And what does it mean? Is the police following you?" Finneas asked concerned and confused, just like Billie expected

"No. They're following her. After that, I haven't seen that car again, but there were other black cars with people that had constantly been with their eyes on her. What I believe, is that her father actually knows her every move. He knows when she's with me and he knows when she's coming over. He has people constantly watching her"

"And don't you think you should tell her?" Finneas asks amazed

"Yes and no. The idea of her father knowing about us isn't a happy thought. It's also infuriating when I think how afraid she was that night. That guy was probably supposed to protect her, but he scared her like hell. I still remember her trembling voice and how hard her heart was beating. But...I can't always protect her. Marcus is dangerous and I can't fight against him on my own. He doesn't even know I have feelings for Ava and he can't know. If I tell her what her father is doing, she'll confront him and I don't want that. Not yet"

"You have to stop lying to her Billie. She'll eventually find out everything and it could turn into something you won't like" the big brother warned her

"I promise I will. But I can't tell her everything at once. First, I have to prove her that I really care about her. I want to make up for all the moments I hurt her and I treated her badly. That's why I came to you actually" Billie smiled at him

"How could I help?" He asked raising his brow

"Can I borrow your beach house? I want to surprise her and go on a cute date." Billie asked him

"Of course. Anytime Billie. Just promise you won't hurt her again "

"I promise"

Ava's POV

As I was going to dad's car, because he's borrowing it to me now, I noticed a familiar mate black dodge I missed even though I saw it two days ago.

"What's up baby?" Billie asked as she opened her arms for me as soon as I got closer. I jumped in her embrace and we shared a soft kiss before I gave her an answer.

"Isn't it obvious. I'm trying to get home. What are you doing here?"  I opened the car and shoved  my bag inside.

"Can't I see my beautiful girl?" Billie asked grinning

"Who said I'm your girl?" I smirk while looking in her eyes, searching for some kind of emotion.

"I said" she answered while she took my hand and dragged me towards her

"That doesn't count. I can't be yours just like that" I leaned against her as I placed my hands on her shoulders

"Then I'm gonna make you mine, and I'll come and see your pretty face every day, and you'll have to cope with that" she said as she placed her hands on my waist, one of them slowly going to my ass. Her words made my heart beat faster as I actually thought of the idea.

"I'm pretty sure I can handle that" I leaned in for another kiss, this time it gave her time to give my butt a little squeeze. We had to eventually pull away because we were in a school's parking lot.

"But for real. Did you really just came here for a kiss?" I asked looking into her eyes.

"Not only that. I wanted to ask you something." She said having something that looked like insecurity in her expression.

"What is it?"

"Would you...come on a little trip with me. It's not even a real trip cuz it's in Malibu, but I've planned a little...date. Would like to come?" She had a pleasing smile at the end of the sentence

I was getting more excited with each word she said as soon as she mentioned the word trip.  "Of course I will. When is it?"

"I was thinking tomorrow. We stay there for the night then we come back. Basically the whole weekend. All you have to do is bring some clothes and maybe...a swimsuit. The place is by the beach." She said smiling

"Perfect. I'll tell my parents that I'll be at Victoria's place" I inform her

"Yeah. You could do that" she said seeming unsure

"I'll call you tonight . I have to pick up April from school." I said as I gave her one last kiss

"Se you tomorrow!" She yelled as I got inside the car

"Bye!"
