Becky is currently at the police station, which is at the moment buzzing with noise. There is a new kill and the added drama. Becky was shaken once she saw the victim. She has seen some pretty awful things and did some, too. But this was too much and she wasn't prepared. May be, after all, there are some emotions that are blooming in her. The state the body was in was beyond gruesome. Becky has never gone that far with her victims, no matter how much they deserved it.
She was deep in her thoughts when freen walked into the room. It was a special room that was specifically used for the investigation into the serial killer. There was a whiteboard depicting the timeline of the kills and the information about the victims and photographs of the crimescene. There was a couch at one corner, which looks really cosy. Of course, detectives can get obsessed with the case and spend the night on that couch. All the information they had on the case was in the room in various files and photographs sprawled across the table. How convenient for becky? But still, she had no will to take a look, snoop around. In her mind, she was still in that cabin, standing over the victim. Freen knew Becky wasn't handling it well, which is the reason why she brought becky with her back to the station and told her to wait in that room while she handled certain things.
"Hey!" Freen tried to get becky's attention to which there was no avail.
"Bec!!" She tried again. But silence was what welcomed her.
She slowly walked towards her girl, placing a hand on her shoulder she tried again.
"Hey, becky! You alright?"
Becky looked up at freen, who had a concerned expression. She didn't feel like answering. She just nodded and hummed.
"Mmhmm."
"I told you not to come in if you couldn't handle it." At this point, freen was doubting herself for letting Becky in.
"It's not that. It's just something about the person." Becky replied, still trying to think back what she saw.
"What? You told me you didn't recognize him."
"No, I didn't. But his eyes, at least the one that is left. It's just...it's just so familiar." Freen could literally feel wheels turning in becky's head.
"Familiar, how?"
"Like mine. It felt like I was looking into my own damn eyes." She answered, frustrated. At this point, she was getting furious at whoever was doing this to her. Initially, it was exciting, but now it no longer wasn't. And whoever is doing this must be so sick to kill a person who resembles her.
"Bec a lot of people has green eyes." Freen tried to ease the tension.
Becky stood up and started to pace back and forth,
"You don't get it, freen. I could feel it, it's not just the colour."
Freen paused for a moment. She didn't know if it was wise to share this with her but still went ahead,
"If I'm being honest, I felt like that too."
Becky stopped in her tracks,
"What!?"
"I was hoping it was just me. I felt the familiarity the moment I walked into the scene. And it was too much, not just the brutality of it, but he reminded me of you. And then when I went out for air, you were just outside standing in front of me. I was terrified."
So it wasn't just her. Freen felt that, too. But if that was the case, then could this person be... No, that can't be it. She couldn't even imagine such a scenario.
"Mmmm." She hummed, not knowing how to actually respond.
"Becky, can I ask you something?"
She looked at the girl in front of her. She should be afraid, but when she looked at freen, it wasn't the detective that was asking the question. It was her girlfriend, and that eased her.
