"You can't hide forever, sweetheart. It's time to stop playing hide and seek. You know I ALWAYS win, deary."God, every single cell in her small, starving body wanted to scream. Her lungs and the disconnected part of her brain wanted to yell so loud at him. He has left her to bear the starvation and dehydration for so many nights, which, in his words, he calls it a 'test of survival'.
The table she held onto so tightly suddenly made a violent bang and shook by. What she could only assume was his fist, "I need a goddamn beer, girl. Just come the fuck out!"
Her fatigued heart plummeted as it proceeded to beat violently against her rib cage. She held her breath, controlling every sound her exhausted body made as to not draw any attention from, what could only be, her fuming father. The entire floor shook like an earthquake as the table rolled away, revealing a very pissed off figure she dreaded calling her father. The look in his eyes said it all, an absolute lunatic. And she was fucking horrified.
"Look what I found! A lost little rabbit!"
"No!!" Becky jolted awake screaming drenched in sweat.
"BECKY!!"
"It's okay! You are okay...it's just a nightmare. I've got you love." Freen said immediately wrapping Becky in a tight embrace.
"Sorry, it felt too real." Becky sighs burrowing her face into Freen's chest.
"Want to talk about it?" Freen asks as she kept running soothing circles on her back.
"I think I'm remembering things, everything horrible that happened." Another series of sobs overtakes. Freen wanted to take away all the pain. But she couldn't. All she can do is hold her. Tell her it will be alright.
"It's okay, I'm right here to hold you through them baby. You are not alone." Freen continued mumbling sweet nothings and rocking Becky back and forth until the sobs subsides.
Sleep didn't come for either of them after that. They just laid there, cuddling in eachother's arms until they couldn't anymore. Another day was here and now they both had to face it out of their little bubble.
"Good morning Dad." Becky said as they both walked into the living room. Robert and Irin were sat on the couch.
Robert had a teasing smile before responding.
Irin on the other hand looked pissed.
"Morning to you too Irin." Becky greets.
Irin snickers in response.
Becky frowns,
"What's up with you?"
"Just because this is a mansion doesn't mean it has thick walls."
Realization dawned on becky and her eyes went wide. Her head whipped in Freen's direction who was already red as a tomato.
"Irin!" Robert warned.
"What Dad? I couldn't sleep at all, you two were so loud!!!!" Irin huffed crossing her arms over her chest.
Flashback
"I missed you," Freen says, nosing against Becky's neck, and in return, Becky only chuckles, her hands resting on either side of Freen's belly.
"I missed you too, and I can't believe we are having a baby."
Freen gave a small laugh and pulled becky down by braiding her fingers in her blonde hair. Her mouth met Becky's in a passionate dance for dominance that she won easily. Their lips never parting, and she shrugged Becky's trench coat off her shoulders.
