JAKE POV:

Johnnie and i kissed once more. Now i was certain he felt the same way, he wouldnt do this to me if he planned on completely dropping this afterwards.

After all, we were in the front seats of my car, so the position was a little uncomfortable, and I had to pull away after a few more seconds.

"Jake, are we like going to be together together or??" he asks, genuinely unaware of our official title now

"I- I dont know Johnnie.. but i really like you."

"I like you too. God thats cringe" he smiles and turns away "But its true.."

"Listen, i just.. I dont want this to um.. ruin what we already have. I mean we live together, do you think this would work?" I finally considered the realistic side of this situation. Could Johnnie and I be more than friends? what if something goes wrong and we still have to live together?

"Yeah but- I dont know.." he looks disappointed

"Should we um- try?" Im not letting the opportunity pass, fuck thinking literally.

"Do you want to? I mean like.. you know um-try going out?" He finally pops the damn question. I tried my hardest to not act overly excited like i usually do, but deep down i wanted to scream YES!

"If you want to, because i do." I smile widely at him, not being to fully hold back my feelings.

JOHNNIE POV:

He wants to. Jake and I, were gonna go out? maybe really date? omfggggg

"I um.. me too."

"What does this make us?" Jake looks into my eyes with that certain look he gives me when he's eager for an answer.

"We can figure that out another time right?" I dont know what this makes us. Boyfriends? but that felt weird?

"Yeah..yeah" He smiles and blushes once more.

My words are not showing how damn excited i am inside. Ive wanted this for the better part of 6 months, just for Jake to give me a chance to be his. Thats what this was, nothing official, but a chance.

"Johnnie can i tell Tara what happened because shes going to freak out if i dont follow up on the story."

"Jake you told her about last night?" I would be mad at him, but i just couldnt right now.

"im sorry"

"No its fine, yeah, tell her. But can you ask for her to uh.. to not tell anyone else please" I wasnt ready for this to be a thing in public right now.

Still, this is the happiest ive been in a while.

JAKE POV:

Johnnie said yes. Were 'going out', so we aren't exactly dating but we are trying something? im not really sure, but it doesnt even matter. I go to text Tara, and tell Johnnie what she says

Jake> Hi tara im back
Tara> JAKE TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED YOU FUCK
J> okay so uh we talked
J> he likes me
T>OMG???????
J>I KNOW IM SCREAMING
T>WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME YOU LIKED HIM SHITHEAD
J>IDK I WAS SO SCARED
T>WTV KEEP GOING
J> okay we just talked it out and decided to try and see if we could make it work being more than friends

J>I KNOW TARA HERE CALL IM WITH HIM RN

incoming facetime call from 'TARA 💗💗'...

"Hiiiiiiiiiii"

"HI JAKE HI JOHNNIE OH MY FUCKING GOD I NEED LIKE FULL DETAILS NOW"

I saw johnnie blush and go to cover his face, flustered by how excited Tara is. I give him a playful hit on the side, getting him to look back at the camera.

"Hi tara" he smiled

"JOHNNIE!!!! I ALWAYS KNEW YOU WOULD BE MY REPLACEMENT" that had been an ongoing joke with us ever since Tara and I broke up.

"stop tara thats not true" He was too flustered to even joke around with her

"Okay Tara there literally isnt any details we are very mature and talked it out like men" I gave Johnnie a goofy smile. Im still gonna make the same dumb jokes with him like before, thats one thing that definitely isnt changing.

"Can we hang out soon then?" she asked.

"Yes ofc we will soon"

"Okay im still freaking out i love u guys bye" she hung up the call squealing.

I smiled at johnnie again, this time he smiled back lovingly, and i took his hand in mine. I had a feeling today was going to be good.
