Imagine you're on a rooftop with Jack Kelly. You sway gently with the breeze as he twirls you through the night like a phantom. The loose material of your skirt brushes up against both your legs, and you extend your arm over the edge as he sends you off, just for a moment, and you think with a soaring heart that this is what freedom must taste like, when he pulls you back to him. Imagine his fingers caressing your cheek as softly as a paint brush moving over a canvas, and the hope in both your eyes gleaming like stars, bright enough to dim the ones up above. Imagine two hearts beating in perfect sync, and you are sure you've never felt such joy in your life before this night, not even when your fight for your rights was won. Imagine being determined to stay in this moment forever, to never wake up, to hold onto the boy who once held the world upon his shoulders. But alas, imagine your eyes slowly opening as you mournfully realize it was but a dream. Because Jack Kelly is out in Santa Fe realizing his own.
