At home I pulled out my lap top and scanned Google for construction companies that could put up a good sturdy wall for me for cheap or at least to clean it up inside. S13 floated around in my head watching me work and when I finally found one I made a few phone calls which mostly consisted of being forwarded to other people and being put on hold until I finally got the people I needed to be in contact with. After some time, I finally got arrangements made for the people to come out and survey the land to be built around. Only one problem, they were all booked for a month or more and I only had a week

"Hey babe, so how was your new client?"

"Odd, she wanted a land survey on an old hospital." I said

"How much did you tell her it was worth?" Darla asked

"It was an antique building with no structural issues so about 600,000 dollars not to mention rewiring and pluming on such an old building."

"Did she say why she wanted it?"

"She said she was going to turn it into a drug rehab center."

"Well Samuel she is halfway there on her choice of a hospital; it is already set up with plenty of rooms."

"Yeah..." I murmured

Something was off about the girl, she was too young and the way she opened the roof door when I, an expert in most martial arts couldn't seemed odd I needed to take a closer look at her. Later on that night I pulled up her name on Google and what I found surprised me but explained why she was interested in the building. Her full name was Lauren Maree Carrington and her parents were tenth generation owners of the Carington pharmaceutical company so it made perfect since that their daughter wanted to open a rehab center and she certainly had the funding to do it. I decided that later that night after Darla went to sleep that I would check it out and see what Laura was really up to or if she was being completely honest with me.

With a frown I looked at the chain link fence, I decided it would have to do for now then I turned my attention to more pressing matters, like supplies. Most shipments of anything would take months so I had to improvise, the one place where you could get anything in bulk and not look suspicious was Sam's Club, I could load down my truck with food and water many times without seeming too odd, and my parents owned a pharmaceutical company so I could redirect a shipment to Palestine and have a gang in Nacogdoches raid it for me using a bribe of a few thousand dollars.

East Texas had always been used for farming and the cattle industry but that didn't mean that our stores were useless, in fact with a smaller population the shelves were always full. As I walked up to the Sam's Club door I grabbed a large cart and showed the greeter my Sam's card before disappearing into the belly of the store. I was looking for canned and boxed goods with a lengthy shelf life and water, lots and lots of water then in the checkout line my phone started to ring, it was Sam.

"Hello." I answered

"Um hey Laura, can I speak with you in person, I know that its late and all but I want another look at the building." he said

"Sure, can you meet me at the Palestine Lowes in about an hour and a half?"

"Sure, see you then bye." he hung up and I checked the time, it was about 10:00

At the building I pulled through the gate and started to unload, technically the building was mine now considering I had already turned over my account information to the city to pay for the building I just hadn't gotten the official paper work, so if the cops caught me I wasn't breaking the law. I found myself worrying about what Sam would think once he found out I had already bought the building the day after consulting him then I found myself wondering why I worried about his opinion, it wasn't like it mattered."
