"Dr. Croy, I'm worried that they are going to release the virus earlier than planned, do you think she has made any progress yet?"

"Well Joey, let's hope she has, were did you hear that anyway?" Dr. Croy asked

"I overheard corporate and the president in the conference room."

"Let's hope that they didn't decide to move the date, are you ready?"

"Yeah, did you get the flash drive?"

"Let's go then Joey."

I looked at the computer in front of me, hacking into the security system was a bad idea, we could get caught if we didn't do this fast enough. What we were trying to do was change the programming for all of the doors, we wanted to program the doors to open when the power went out, not close like they were currently programmed to do. Reprogramming the doors to open when we cut the power off would thrust the entire base into chaos. We were pretty much inducing a more violent form of a base wide cleansing only this time with no guarantee that the security team will be able to save the base, not that it mattered they were all going to die one way or another.

My hands flew across the key board gaining access to the programming of the doors changing how they worked with the exception of the doors leading to the outside world, I set those on a timer to open on the day the project was supposed to be launched. I glanced at my watch, time was ticking away and the computer seemed to be running slower than usual but with Dr. Croy at the door I felt slightly better about breaking the law, no we were outside the law... this was simply a moral issue.

"Hurry Joey, we have two minutes left."

"I'm trying, but the computer is too slow we might be able to make it if we fake like we found the guards knocked out with the monitors off."

"One minute."...

I wiped sweat off my face "70 percent."

"thirty seconds."

"Shut up."

"They are at the door about to enter the hall"

"95 percent, shit let's get out, pull the vent cover off." and with that we were out of the room in seconds, ironically enough, just as the shift change walked in.

"Well son of a gun Sam, how did you get so many people to show up?" I asked looking at the cleaning vans in front of the hospital

"If you call a whole bunch of people and tell them that a multi-story abandon building needs to be cleaned in a three days for triple what they charge per hour you are bound to get a good turn out."

"Let's just hope they don't find out they won't be getting paid in money." I said

"Wait, what? then what are you paying them in, food?" he asked clearly flabbergasted

"No, they will get a safe place to stay when the shit hits the fan."

"As I recall, you said you would explain everything to me if I helped you."

"No I said I would explain everything at the hospital."

"Either way you still owe me an explanation." he said following me away from the truck

"In a minute, not right now."

he stepped in front of me "Tell me now."

I looked him over "In less than a week there is going to be a real live zombie apocalypse." I told him

I walked around his speechless body and moved onto the cleaning crew "Alright, I would like to thank you all for be being here today" I started " All of you are going to get paid the same regardless of how much you clean or what part of the building you clean, so I am going to let you dispute among your selves who will clean what and as long as I see sufficient progress I won't interfere with it, you will work from six in the morning till six in the afternoon until the job gets done I will be back in a few hours to check on you" I said then turned around
