Chapter Twenty Six:
「 The Shift 」

"She shifted the balance of the world. Never underestimate her wrath."

"I'll kill her."

Mizu huffed, "I came all the way here for this?"

The room you were staying in was completely destroyed from the tantrum you were having. Your eyes were bloodshot as you picked up a nearby nightstand and threw it across the room.

"I'll kill her! I'll seriously kill her! All these years and she still hasn't learned!"

"Calm-"

"Don't tell me to calm down! She kidnapped Zenitsu! After I deliberately told the both of them that those Demon Slayers were off limits."

Mizu placed his hands onto your shoulders and ushered you to sit down on the tatami mats. You were seething before your brother flicked your forehead, "You're acting like a child."

"You're right I am. That's because someone below me thinks it's alright to go against my words. Do you wanna die too?"

"I'll kill Daki for you."

He stood up and ruffled your hair before leaving, "I'll kill her myself. So don't you worry that pretty little head of yours. Your big brother will take care of things."

"Big brother?! You're only two minutes older than me! Don't get cocky!"

"Your bloodlust was so evident that I came here as fast as I could." He chuckled before sliding the door open, "Your true colors are showing dear sister..so we better hurry up."

Once the door closed, you were left alone in your messy room. You slightly relaxed at your brother's words before grabbing a small hair pin on the floor and throwing it. The sharp end of the pin nailed perfectly onto the wall. If you couldn't care less about the surrounding people, your wrath would've destroyed the entire district.

Exiting the room not too long after your brother, your eyes scanned for the nearest person, "You." Pointing your finger towards a young girl, "Clean up this mess."

A switch was flipped inside of you that night. As soon as your foot stepped out of that room, the world shifted. Some people took a step back, others took a few steps forward. The birds in the surrounding areas flew away, and the little bugs and critters that roamed the dirt streets scurried away. The perception of time was ruined. It now bends to your liking.

The girl freezes at your command before slowly bowing and rushing into the room, "O-Of course!" She was slightly confused as you were known to be very nice and caring towards the other girls working here. Perhaps you were just having a bad day, at least that's what she was hoping.

But that was a mere shot in the dark. Hoping is a very generous way of putting that she was praying— no, begging that you were just in a foul mood and that this isn't your real self. Your temperament was worst that Daki's— in fact you were overall more intimidating than her. If this was how you really acted then she (and the rest of the people working there) were fucked.

She slowly pulled the hair pin off of the wall before a shiver ran down her spine. Whipping her head around, she saw you looming over her with an intense stare, "What was your name again?"

"S-Shiro Hazubeki! My name is Shiro Hazubeki.."

"What a sad name." You scoffed before kneeling down to her level, "I'll just call you servant, because that's what you are, yes? Or would you prefer maid instead?"

"I-I would prefer Hazubeki, Lady Waru.." Oh, that's right, you almost forgot that you were using a fake alias in this House.

You laughed before extending your hand out to her, "Give me my hair pin." After she placed it in your hand you fiddled with it slightly before ramming the sharp end of the pin through the side of the girl's throat.

"Who the hell do you think you are?" You asked out loud as her blood splattered onto your face, "Asking for such a ridiculous request. You're either bold or just plain stupid."

The girl fell limp as you let go of the pin, leaving it stuck in her neck, "In your next life, I hope you can clearly see the blaring difference between you and I. And then maybe in the long run, you wouldn't get yourself killed."

You stepped over her body before seeing a makeshift set of doors appear in front of you. Rolling your eyes, you knew Muzan wants to talk to you about something. The bet was still in place and it wasn't exactly over yet. So why does he want to see you so soon?

"Did you miss me?" You sarcastically asked, stepping through the set of doors and into the Infinity Castle.

"No I did not." A vein protruded out of Muzan's forehead, "This was not a part of the deal."

"Hm?? What wasn't?"

"You know what I'm talking about. Don't act coy with me (Name) Shimadzu, recite to me what our deal was."

"I made a deal with you Muzan Kibutsuki that if Tanjiro Kamado survives against Upper Moon Six, then I will not join you in your endeavors. But if he dies then you will have me permanently."

"Correct-"

"But that was a wager between me and the Demon King." You smirked at your loophole.

Muzan crushed one of the test tubes with his hands causing small shards of glass to fall onto the floor. Then he was quick to grab onto your waist and sit you down onto the desk, his red demon eyes glaring at your own.

"You killed Daki!"

＞ (Name) will only call Mizu "Big Brother" if its to her favor. She doesn't like it when he uses it to tease her though.

＞ Shiro's name translates to "loneliness" or "loner" and her last name Hazubeki translates to "disgraceful" which (Name) thinks is very fitting for someone so useless in her eyes.

＞ (Name)'s fake alias "Lady Waru" means "to crack" which symbolizes her changing personality— slowly showing her true colors.
