Those words took both of us by surprise

I didn’t know how to take it, but knowing I was not my sister. My mind races down a rabbit hole. It played with my emotions, making me feel fuzzy inside.  I knew my mind was playing tricks on me. It was all in my head. I had nothing to say to that. It was meant to be hurtful he has no choice but to deal with me. I look into his eyes ,always staring at me, waiting for my reaction.

Just his brown eyes on my blue eyes. I was about to say something, but the knock on the door freaked both of us out. He pulls me into the shower and closes the curtain as I silence my phone.

“Are you decent?” A fragile voice mumbles

“Mom? Really? “

I fumble my fingers. His words hit harshly.

“Well remember when I walked in on you with Kleenex …”

“Mom!!!”

I know by now his getting red. I clasp my mouth to hold back my laugh at this point of embarrassment. I try to focus on staying quiet.

“It’s time for bed, and you should already be in bed. What are you doing in the bathroom?”

“Yes, mam, uh, shower? “

“Why isn’t the shower running its late Bambi”

“I was about to turn it on, but you interrupted “

I saw his hand maneuvering the shower handle. I looked up, and it was a freaking robotic-looking thing. Buttons are involved. This isn’t any regular shower like mine. I was too busy gawking at the gadget here that I forgot to take a step back when the shower poured down on me….I bit back a gasp.

oh, his dead

“See shower “

“Fine but hurry up so you can get your rest “

As soon as she left, he opened the shower curtains and let out a laugh, unable to suppress it. I tried to turn it off

“No don’t ….”

Oh god, there's more water coming out of this gadget thing.

"What the hell? Who invented this nonsense?"

“Stop pressing stuff” he whispers harshly.I just shield my face as he works that gadget to a complete stop.

“I hate your stupid shower”

“Well it's delicate “

He leaves to his closet, grabs a towel for me, and drapes it over my shoulders. Always with a dreamy smile. It doesn’t help his body is etched to perfection. The worst part is his dripping wet, making it impossible to think with a clear mind.

Stupid working out chump

“Here it fits pretty big, but it should fit you the way you like”

He hands me a t-shirt

“Shaun I have nothing to wear for this party . I can't wear just a shirt”

He shrugs

“So we won’t go it's kind of late, and I don’t feel like going anymore”

“My sister is waiting for you”

I looked down and whispered when I looked back at him he seemed unaffected by the great news involving my sister

“I'll have other opportunities if she can’t wait. I guess I wasn’t it for her “

“Well let me change, and well, there's no point being here “
