Deal Gone Wrong

One Last Time

I made it home just in time Leyla got up with no words exchange. She just smiled as if she knew what I did but she went on with her day. I went on with mine, days passed. I managed to get some homework done the window never creaked open. I added some details to my special project along with editing yearbook pictures and taking my decent shower. 

Once more I sat up looking at the window that Shaun doesn't crawl in anymore. My weeks of suspension were coming to an end. I even sent a text no reply.

The smile that was plastered on my face from leaving his house that day was gone. I cooked clean up afterward even if I didn't have to only because it kept me from thoughts. Once more I was left to endure the empty home throughout my week's suspension. I let a yawn out as I walked into my room but I heard my front door creak open.

Leyla mentioned a sleepover so it can't be here.

I grunt and with my wood bat peek out my head to see down the hall. I slowly sneak out of my room with 911 on speed dial and downstairs all hear is my name behind me

"Jude "

I started screaming and swinging my bat like a caveman but the intruder got a hold of my bat.

"Woman it's just me ....Shaun"

I put my bat down and hold back the urge to hug him. I gulp down the knot in my throat emotion trying to get the best of me. He stays quiet too I flicker the foyer light on and put my phone down. I let my bat drop as I place a hand in my racing heart.

I take a long deep breath in to control myself but I miss him. I even go as far as touching his jawline before I gently slapped him just to use as a cover-up.

"How the hell do you keep getting in my house?"

I place my hand over my racing heart.  I feel the tears run down my face he cups my cheeks his thumb wiping my tears before he holds me into a hug . I gladly snuggle in as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulder.

"Sorry Arlene Your mom left a spare under the flower pot you locked the window,I didn't mean to scare you I did call you"

I turned my phone off after everything slowly sank in he wasn't going to come back and dealing with that hurt more than I expected.
He doesn't know am crying because I miss him ugh what's going on with me

"Yeah, I'm sure it was meant for emergencies not scaring me each time you want to waltz in my home how did you?"

I sniffle breaking the hug to playfully punch his arm. His hand rested on my cheeks giving me no choice but to see him . He stayed quiet staring at me.

"Sorry it's not hard to figure out and I need you to come with me ...."

I look up searching for an excuse, why do I keep hurting myself? The more he hangs around. Now, he suddenly shows up for his benefit but I can't let this happen again he puts his hands down.

"I don't think so, I have two exams tomorrow since am back to school and Raven and I are going to a party...I don't even know anymore"

I leaned my back against the nearest wall he stepped in front of me.I could feel his shoes touch the tip of my bare toes.

"You're going to Mario's party?"

My imagination was running wild again considering I heard ...spite out of his comment but realistically his into my sister. I need to no... I have to realize that.

"I'm not even sure if I'm going"

"Everything ok? You seem off"

I roll my eyes he can't be serious he left without any sign of him. But here you are unaffected unlike me clearly I need to get away from him.
