Krish's pov:

"Bye krish" She said before getting out of the car.

I placed a hand on my cheek where she kissed and my heart started pounding really fast.

Anika

That's all what was on my mind the whole time these days.
She's going to be my wife.

As much as any guy would hate to admit it, we all think about our married life.

The wedding day is more exciting for girls but the whole life after is what I think about often.

A partner for life, a person who's there for me who makes me happy. The face i'd see every time I get back to my house after a shitty day and just being in her presence would be sufficient for me.

I think about kids too. But that's a topic i'm not really comfortable discussing about right now.

My phone started ringing.

Ishaan.

"Yes, Ishan?" I said.
"Where are you?" He asked.
"I'm about to reach home, why?"
"I need you to meet us at our spot. Something's up"

The car made a screeching noise as I turned it and started driving towards our meeting spot.
My best friends, Ishan and Kartik and Sahil are the ones I met in college.

We're not usually violent guys but when it comes to business, we don't back down from anything.

When I reached the location, they were all sitting and talking to each other.

"What happened?" I asked and closed the door behind me. I crossed my arms over my chest and waited for them to speak.

They all look really serious.

"He's here" Kartik said.

I stared at him, not believing what he had just said. No. He couldn't be here. He shouldn't be here.

"When did he get here?" I asked him.
"About 2 days ago" Ishaan said.
"And now is when i'm hearing about this? I told you guys to keep an eye on him"

Sahil stood up "Krish we didn't know he'd come here"
He said.
"Yes, and that's specifically what I asked you to do.
To look out for him."

Ishan didn't look too worried about it "We'll chase him away" He shrugged.

"He's not a dog, Ishan. I wish I could insult him like that but he's a threat"

He hummed.

"How's Anika?" He asked with a smirk.

Bkl knows mentioning her would make me smile.
I tried not to though

"She's great but that's not what we're talking about" I told him.

"Oh cmon, when are you gonna introduce your future wife to your best friends? You know that we're gonna be like 'chachu' to yours kids, right?"

"We're really great friends, I'd like to be mamu" Sahil shrugged.
"Shut up guys"

"Dad's side of family is better" Ishan said, challenging Sahil.

"What kind of world are you living in? Mom's side is always so much better"

The next day:

My heart was happy.
No like, I can feel it smiling. Even I couldn't stop smiling.

Urgh he's so cute.
