Chapter 20

I quickly got out of the car and saw the cow was fine. She ran away from there and I fell down on my knees. My heart was beating rapidly. It was so scary. I could've killed a cow.

Tears started streaming down my face and i couldn't control them.

I heard shoes running towards me and felt Krish getting on his knees in front of me.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt? What the fuck just happened? Anika? Breathe" Krish cupped my face in his hands. "Did you get hurt?"

I shook my head as no and he gently wiped away my tears.
He put his hands on my shoulders and with his support I tried to stand up.

He immediately pulled me into his chest and held my so tightly. His one hand was on my head and the other around my shoulder.

"Please don't cry" He said in a soft voice and rubbed my back. My tears had stopped but there were post cry sobs.

"Are you okay?" He asked again.

I nodded and he let go of the hug. We got back in the car and this time, he drove. Before driving, he made me drink water and sit back.

The whole drive, he kept saying words that would comfort me and after some time my eyes got heavy and I slept for the rest of the journey.

I could've hit the cow. How didn't I see it coming? I'm just glad that it was okay and probably got back to its family.

I felt a hand on my cheeks as my eyes adjusted to the lighting's. We reached the venue and it was beautiful. I was feeling better after sleeping and tried to forget the whole incident.

Krish smiled at me as my eyes opened. "Hey" He said. I sit up straight and removed the seatbelt from the buckle. "How are you feeling?"

"Better" I told him. I rubbed my hand over my face to freshen up and got out of the car when Krish opened the door for me. Always.

The venue wasn't anything less than a palace. It was sooo huge and had kingdom vibes to it. The valet took Krish's car and someone else had our luggage.

I saw Yuvika come running towards me and when she came near me, she jumped on me. I could've practically fallen when she did so.

I hugged her tightly and we started giggling for no reason "I'm so glad you're here" She said into the hug as her grip tightened.

"This is going to be so exciting!"

We let go of the hug and I saw Veer and Krish looking at us. Krish had a huge smile on his face and I raised my eyebrows at him but he just shook his head.

Mine.

"CMON I WANNA SHOW YOU SO MANY THINGS" Yuvika said and dragged me with her. Krish turned around to watch me go with her, his stupid smile not leaving his face.

I heard his phone ring and he picked up the phone and went to a corner to talk.

"Okay so, tomorrow's haldi at 2" She told me and took me to the place where haldi was supposed to take place. "I'll sit there, Veer will sit there. You guys will come one by one"

She went on and on and on about how to not make a mess and if someone did, she'll threaten them.

Whereas I wasn't able to take in the beauty of the whole palace. It was out of the world. There was a lakeside view, there was a lake too. It's so big.

It's so much like yeh jawani hai deewani's shooting set.

I've always wanted to come here since I watched the movie. And to think that my best friend's getting married here.
