good girl Melody Myers meets bad boy tattoo artist Kane Connel they soon fall for each other in a rollercoaster of a love story.
Hey soooooo this is my first EVER book I love to read so I thought this would just be fun...
"Where do you want me to take you?"Kane asks me but before I can respond his phone rings
I see his face grow with question and he quickly answers the phone.
"Hello?" He saids causally.
I hear somone on the other line say something about a hospital so my back shoots straight up.
I have been to the local one to many times for me to count
He looks in my direction and continues to talk to the person on the other line in a muffled tone.
Once he hangs up with the called he turns to me
" my little sister is in the hospital" he saids while covering his face with his hands.
"I'm really sorry about this I know we just met but I need to get to the hospital immediately so I can't drop you off" he saids while putting the car in reverse
I nod understandingly staying silent
He is quick to drive out of the parking lot and shoot off to the hospital.
I watch as his leg bounces up and down repeatedly ......
while waiting for the nurse to come back from the back.
Apparently Kane little sister was at daycare today and fell off a swing.
She's only about 4 years old so it dangerous for their little limbs.
The nurse soon comes out. "Are you guys mom and dad of Kennedy?"
Kane lets out a weak laugh
" no" he states
while I shake my head and say " we aren't dating"
the nurse apologizes quickly
" Kennedy is fine she just got a little bruise and swelling on her knee"
Kane sighs in relief and slumps into his chair.
I thank the nurse and watch her scurry away
i don't miss the way she was checking out kane
A familiar voice breaks me out of my thoughts.
"Melody!" I dig my nails into my hands so hard that they leave little crescent moon shapes.
Kane eyes me carefully as he picks up my hand and rubs over the marks I had just made in my skin.
"Hi Dr. Iggy" i say with as much happiness as i can muster
"I hope you aren't here for yourself are you back at it?"
i tense knowing what he means by "back at it"
"I'm not" the lie slips out easily
He's nods as he gets called over to review some paperwork.
"Been here before?" Kane asks the question i was dreading
His last name being called out distracts him
"Mr Connel?"
." Kennedy is ready to see you guys"
he stands up and mutters "fuckin finally all this for a bruised knee"
I get up and follow him while wiping my dress to get the dust off.
I tap on kanes shoulder "do you want me to wait outside?"
he shakes his head no and grabs my hand in a rough but gentle way.
I wasn't expecting it so I gasp but quickly recover
I see who I assume is Kennedy.
She is so tiny with her blonde hair and blues eyes the total opposite of what Kane looks like.
I can't help but wonder where Kanes parents are.
Kennedy's face lights up when she's sees Kane I can't help but smile.
