as we make our way inside i drop my car keys into the dish
i put Kennedy back down on her feet
she immediately runs to melody
"Melon!!!" she yells
"yes kennedy?" she says while getting to her knees so she can be at her height
"can i touch your hair?"
i walk over to the coach and sink into it
"of course sweetie just don't pull okay?"
"kennedy in 20 minutes it's nap time okay?"
she frowns at me
(40minutes pass)
"Melody I'm going to put her down for a nap"
"Okay take your time" she replies
"ME NO NAP" Kennedy yells as she kicks her feet to try to get down from my hold
"5 more minutes" she yells unaware that i gave her a whole extra 20
"I promise Melody will be here when you get back okay?"
"Fine" she huffs
"I love you" I kiss her on the top of her head
"Me love you to"
I close the door quietly behind me as I make my way to the kitchen where Melody is
"You hungry Angel?"I ask when I see her
"No" she replied to fast
I raise a brow at that
"Okay then"
"Sorry I'm just not hungry"
"Your good don't worry" I say back
I grab a seltzer
"Want one Angel?"
"Can I have water?"
"yea gimmie a sec"
I grab a bottle and lead her over to the couch
handing the water bottle over to her
"What do you like to watch?" Melody asks me but I can't seem to focus
"Kane?"
"Yea sorry what was your question?"
"Wha-"
She's thinks for a moment
"You didn't have to invite me over its not a big deal if you want me to leave you can just tell Kennedy I had an emergency " she laughs nervously
"I invited you over because I wanted to" I reassure her
Which was the truth
"now let's find something so watch"
i grab the remote from the coffee table and toss it to her
but instead of her catching it it hits her straight in the forehead
"oh shit are you okay?"
she laughs while nodding
i grin while shaking my head at her
"let's watch shrek"
i raise a brow "shrek?"
she nods
"your serious?" i ask
"of course i am"
i grab the remote from her and search up shrek
the sound of the movie starting takes my attention away from looking at the way the sun reflects against her side profile
