The room was silent. Nobody said a word. All they could do was stare at Rose in shock. Rose was scared herself. 'Stupid! Why did you say that?' she berated herself. She glanced at them in panic. Kol took a step towards her.

"Rose-"

She ran. She ran out of the room, out of the house, as far away from them as she possibly could. 'They don't want me. They probably hate me now.' she thought to herself. She kept running. She didn't look back.

Kol stared at the door in shock. She wasn't his sister. No that's not right. They just didn't have the same father. 'You don't have the same mother either. Don't forget your place in this family.' A voice- his voice- taunted. Kol blocked the voice out. He turned his attention to the crash from behind him.

"Nick! Breaking everything isn't going to help anything! Stop acting like a damn child!" Eli roared. Kol's eyes widened as Nick paused mid-throw. Eli never got angry. At least, never this angry.

Nick turned to Eli. "Well how do you suppose we fix this? Huh? You got any bright fucking ideas?" he snarled viciously at Eli. Eli glared at Nick. Kol sighed. 'Here we go again.'

"Maybe we should let her cool off. Wait for her to come home-"

"She's not going to come back!" Nick cut off.

"Don't be childish of course she will come back."

"No Eli. You shouldn't be this naive. Come on, you're supposed to be the oldest act like it. She's not going to come back. She hates me."
"And who's fault is that?"

"I lied so that I wouldn't lose her!"

"And now we've all lost her!"

"Stop it! Shut up both of you!" Kol screamed as loud as he could. The two brothers turned to glare at him. Kol didn't flinch. He was sick of their yelling.

"She is not going to leave us like this. She may not be dad's child but she is still our family. So shut the hell up and take a breath. You both know that Rose was never the type to just abandon others."

Eli and Nick sighed. Eli collapsed into the armchair behind him. "How could mom do this? That's my question. Why would she do this to dad? And did dad know?"

"All very good questions Eli. Too bad mother dearest decided to fly the coop." Nick sighed sarcastically.

"It's probably why she left." Kol muttered bitterly. Eli and Nick turned to Kol motioning for him to continue. "Think about it. As soon as Rose turned 18, mom just leaves? She was probably waiting for Rose to become a legal adult so that she could tell Rose the truth."

"But why at 18? Couldn't she have waited a year or two?' Eli pointed out.

"Because now that Rose was a legal adult, mom didn't have to take care of Rose. She wasn't obligated to. She told Rose the truth and then to avoid the confrontation if Rose chose to tell us she left. And even if Rose didn't tell us, she would still have to deal with Rose, who more than likely felt hurt and betrayed." Kol explained.

"That... actually makes sense." Nick praised. Another thought popped into his head. "But why did Rose hide this for the past six years then?"

Kol sighed tiredly. "That... isn't something I've figured out." Suddenly finding the room suffocating, Kol turned to leave.

"Where are you going?" Eli called.

"To my room. I really can't take much more of this. We wait for Rose to come back and then talk to her. She's still my family. That hasn't changed for me. It never will." Kol left the living room and Eli and Nick heard a faint click.
