Chaoter 6 - Koko

Friends sticks together

The four of us got a well deserved rest and was even served a generous amount for breakfast. There was eggs, bacon, rice, toasts with all kinds of toppings be it ham or cheese. Our host admitted they wanted us at our best and providing a proper breakfast would help achieve that. My two chefs had a pretty planned out meal to not become overfull but I just ate everything that wasn't touched.

"Oi don't eat too much. Maybe you get slow when we have to rescue the doctor"

"Shut up!" Me and Taiyō could bicker right after waking up and Bajiru wouldn't even be surprised.

"Are they always like this?" Njord sorta whispered when leaning closer to the younger chef.

"You'll get used to it"

We didn't waste any time after breakfast to prepare for the planned stealth mission. Us devil users only needed to get proper clothes as our main utility was our powers while Bajiru and the navigator had to prepare a whole lot more, not allowing themselves to miss out anything when equipping themselves for this rescue. At the very last we cover ourselves with the cloaks except for Njord who put on the marine uniform. I thought I only mistook what I saw last night but it really looked like it pained the cartographer to bear the marine clothes.

"Bro take off your hat. It gives your figure a wonky shape and will give out your identity"

"Hmmm over my dead body!" What Taiyō said was true but my top hat means the world to me and so I barely take it off except when I need to. My chef just sighs as we exit the map shop. We took a familiar path back to the base which does have the cells we used to be trapped in. But a fork road that we took to the left lead me and my crew to an unfamiliar environment and trusted Njord fully to take us to their friend. While traveling through a small forest that surrounded the south area of the Marine base, we could spot what looked like to be a watch tower. Greenery covered parts of said tower indicating its old age.

"She is up there. We will arrive soon if we keep up the pace" And just as Njord stated, we were entering the base in no time thanks to their keys that let us access anything. The stairs to the top of the watchtower was hell for our knees. Feeling as if our legs would give in we would all fall down domino style and having to start over. That thought itself stressed me enough to keep going.

"Alright... finally here..." The navigator takes a deep breath before inserting the correct key into the lock and unlocks the door. When opening it we were met with a pretty tall woman with a darker complex to her skin.

"N-Njord!" The doctor rushed to her childhood friend, embracing them into a big hug. I was happy to see them together and glanced at my crewmate to see how they were holding up just to see Taiyō being an absolute lost cause as their eyes basically had turned heart shaped at the sight of the feminine doctor.

"It's been a while, Poppy" The two friends let go of each other so Njord could introduce us to the doctor.

"This is Koko, Taiyō, and Bajiru, the top hat pirate crew. They don't look much at first but they are very strong. I got to witness their potential when the marines tried to apprehend them" The medic chuckles lightly which made Taiyō weak in the knees and I so badly wanted to smack their face.

"I did hear a commotion in town yesterday while working. I guess it was your doing" I nod at Poppy's assumption.

"Yep! I scared some of them off with my hollows!"
