The Hockle War: Prologue

4 long months have passed since Craig and his friends have completed their mental training. Over these months not only has their power grown, but also their bonds with each other. The last 4 months have been peaceful, and as you know, peace for Craig and his friends never lasts very long. 

We open up to see Craig and Kokuum sparring with each other while Master Jamos observes.
"Kokuum,  you are far too open when you attack, close your stance when you strike!" Kokuum did as he said and landed a clean hit on Craig which knocked him back. Kokuum looked back at Master Jamos who nodded and gave him a thumbs up.

"Don't let your guard down Kokuum!" Craig landed a mean right hook on Kokuum's face which staggered him. "That was a cheap shot and you know it Craig!" Craig just smirked at him in response and was about to rush at him once more but their wrists started to glow. "Ugh, damn I hate this job, at least it pays well. Sorry Master Jamos, we've got a job to do." Craig handed Master Jamos some money for the groceries and he waved Thomas and the others over. Kokuum stayed just because he was still considered a fugitive.

As they headed over towards Jex  for the 3rd time this month, Thomas couldn't help but voice his boredom. "Uggggh, why do we always have to have to do the boring jobs?" Craig chuckled as he simply looked over at him and flipped, now flying backwards. "Aw c'mon Thom, it's not always boring, we fought a whole gang last week." Thomas just scoffed as Craig laughed and soon enough, they were at the warehouse where Jex was standing outside. "Ah, my favorite pawns! You're late, but that's nothing new, anyways, I've got a job for you four that will take some time."

Jex lead them into a room but told Craig to wait outside, and once everyone went inside, Jex stepped out to talk to him. "Craig, this job won't be too hard for you guys but that's just the first part of it. We need your 'brother' here for it, which is the second part of the assignment. Your task is to go get him, you'll be paid an extra $100,000 for it." Craig sighed and nodded, reluctantly agreeing. "Only on one condition though, as long as you don't force him to join then it's fine." Jex's eye twitched and he flared up his aura but Craig just responded in kind. "Damn brat, you'll do what I tell you to do or I won't hesitate to put the four of you down." Jex had such a cold look on his face but Craig didn't back down. "Try me." Both of them clenched their fists and right as it looked like things were going to ramp up, Jex doubled down. "Just do what I say, got it?" Craig didn't back down and kept staring at Jex as he walked into the meeting room.

Craig sighed as he walked outside and took off, searching for Brett's energy as he tried to clear his thoughts. When he finally locked onto Brett's energy he noticed it was spiking, so he touched down next to where he felt the energy and watched as Brett was doing some training. Brett stopped his training and looked over to his right to see Craig standing there. "Oh, hey Craig, what do you want?" Craig smiled at him and without warning, their fists met, causing both of them to smirk. Both of them were trading blows while they spoke. "I need you to come with me to work, if you wouldn't mind. Gack!" Brett punched him in the gut and grabbed his arm before throwing him over his shoulder. "I told you that I want nothing to do with that place, but if you win against me then sure, I'll come with you! HAAH!" Brett shot a blast at him and Craig's smile grew even wider as he stopped himself in the air and slapped the blast away. "Alright then, I accept that challenge!"

Both of them stared at the other for what seemed like an eternity, until, once again, their fists met, and they smiled as they locked into a battle of punches and kicks, each blow being blocked by the other, and neither of them backing down any time soon. Brett was the first to break through Craig's guard and he landed a punch to his sternum, knocking the wind out of him and taking the opportunity to barrage Craig's abdomen with 3 hard punches before landing a hard kick to the side of his face, causing some blood to fly out and knocking him away. Craig quickly recovered and flew at Brett with a vengeance, spearing himself right into Brett's gut, making Brett keel over in mid-air. Without giving him any time to recover, Craig double-axe handled Brett down towards the ground and shot 2 blasts at him, one that hit him and one that flew under him, hitting him as he fell, slowing him down and allowing Craig to punch him in the face.
