"Madam Loselle! Please don't give up just a bit more...."
The beautiful woman heard the midwife's pleading yet encouraging voice break through pain that ensued her entire being.
She couldn't give up now, her baby had to live. With that thought, she gave it all she had and the pain subdued.
Her vision blurred. It seemed her body was about to shut down from lack of energy to continue being conscious.
"It's out! It's out! Madam you did great ...." The attending midwife was overjoyed that the struggle was over as she handled the bundle of joy that had entered the world.
"....May the gods be praised! It's a boy! A cute little boy!"She squealed whilst shaking the tired mother in euphoria.
The woman lay quietly on the bed with a soft smile on her pink lips and an adoring look in her amber eyes.
My baby boy, mommy is so glad you made it.
Her thin lips parted slightly. She was about to ask to hold her baby but an excruciating pain shot up her abdomen once more.
She gasped in shock and pain her eyes widening and the cold sweat returning to her forehead.
The young midwife who was swaddling the baby swiftly turned to look at the madam whose face was contorted in pain and face glistening in sweat.
"Madam Loselle! What the matter huh?"
She rushed to her madam's side panic written allover her face.
"Okay, calm down breathe....."
She attempted to soothe. She was specially trained from the time the madam's pregnancy was announced for this moment. The master of the house wasn't one to tolerate any mistakes.
"It's ....another....another one..."
Madam Loselle struggled to say through the pain raking through her body. She was having twins. Two babies....
"What?! Another?! what do you mean, your having another baby?!"
The pained madam shot a sharp glare at her stupidity which brought the midwife back to her senses.
She sprung into action, soothing and encouraging once more.
"It's coming........push harder madam push!"
The midwife commanded as she caught sight of the the baby's head.
Gathering all her strength once more, Madam Loselle heaved and it was out, so was she.
"You did well madam"
She then took a look at the baby.
"This one's a girl."
She stated plainly. She would have blown her head if the madam had given birth to two boys. That too at her first birth!
"Well aren't you a cutie! You really tired out your mother."
****************************
Mr. Loselle's head jerked up at the soud of the opening door. His black hair was dishevelled but the rest of him was intact. The nurse's breathe hitched at the sight. My, this man was handsome and his dishevelled hair didn't make it any easier for her.
She felt her cheeks grow hot but as soon as her gaze settled on his eyes she paled.
His eyes held no warmth. Not the slightest. His expression showed he was growing impatient at her staring.
"How's my wife?"
He broke the silence before she could regain her composure. His cold voice brought her back from her reverie.
"Huh?oh your wife, yes! She is currently unconscious but no need to worry sir, she's just tired. After all,who wouldn't be after giving birth to twins?"
The man just stared at her but his mind seemed to be somewhere else. Nonetheless, she felt uncomfortable under his gaze. Finally, he spoke.
"They're two of them."
He said more to himself than the nurse, his tone calm and to the UN trained ear monotonous.
The nurse was confused.
What a strange man. Most men would be elated at the news of having two children at a go.Hmm..Maybe he already knew. With this age and technology, most probably."That's right Mr Loselle. Congratulations, you have abouncing boy and a bubbly girl!"
His brows pulled slightly showing displeasure .
Was he annoyed that the second baby was not a boy. If I had such a husband I'd smack his his head upside.
These were the nurse's thoughts.
"Can I go see them?"His voice came once more. So deep and masculine.
What a lucky woman Madam Loselle was to have this creation of God as her own.
"Of course Mr . Loselle. Right this way,"She motioned toward the door behind her .
The man followed the nurse's notion with curt steps. The first things his eyes landed on were the double cradles directly opposite the door.
An inexplicable glint flashed in his midnight eyes before he redirected his concentration to the beautiful blonde on the hospital bed.
Her usually silky smooth locks were moderately drenched in sweat and some clung to her forehead- evidence of her long struggle for her twins.
Maximilien Loselle felt proud of his wife. She had always been a strong woman. He raised his long slender index finger to caress her flushed cheeks.
Oh my, despite his outer cold personality he's so gentle towards his wife. This is just like you the novels...
The nurse, who had been standing by the door the entire time stopped her train of thought when cold sharp glare was sent her way.
She cleared her throat that had gone dry before speaking hastily.
"Let me leave you guys some alone time. I'll be out if you need me."
With that she stepped out if the VIP
Room with a panic stricken expression and shut the door ever so gently after her.She feared to disturb the man inside any further. Those ruthless cold eyes though alluring held no limit of threats.
Mr.Loselle returned his attention to his wife, wiping and tucking her stray hair behind her ear an adoring expression accompanying the action before his thin lips rested on her forehead.
"Rest well my darling. You did great"
He then shifted his focus to his offsprings; the reason he'd be called a father. A loving smile couldn't help but spring at the thought.
The twins were resting soundly, swaddled blankets, blue for the boy and pink for the girl.
Why is it always assumed that girls like pink?
He silenty questioned whilst looking at the one he deemed his wife's replica.
