Regina's POV

The supposedly forbidden couple stood by the door in astonishment, as though they didn't expect us at all.

Or maybe they had forgotten?

Unbelievably selfish of them! They got together, caused a war, century of sleep and they chose to forget what they had caused.

"Regina! Is that really you? I can't believe my eyes," her long eyelashes batted rapidly as her eyes remained fixed on me.

At this point, I side with Ricardo. Staring is rude!

I rolled my eyes at her ridiculous question.

"Sadly for you, yes, it's me. I know you must be wishing the sleep was another century or so longer."

"Regina..."

"What?! Cat's got your tongue?" I laughed coldly.

If I thought I didn't like Ricardo, then I really didn't like Charmaine. Don't tell me it's hatred, okay! It's something just really close to it.

She was supposed to lead us and guard the fairy way of life. Instead, she chose an illusion of love over her own people.

That cut me, her sworn protector, deeply. I was sworn to protect the queen but she discarded the title for the enemy. That made her an enemy too.

Her head fell and I could tell she was about to cry. I knew her that well.
The supposed to have been king of the demons softly rubbed her arms in an attempt to comfort her.

They do seem to truly love each other. Actions do speak louder than words.

I pushed my inner voice away. I wasn't in the mood for reflection.

"Who gave you the permission to enter my children's room." Came a bone chilling voice. The air in the room seemed to become heavier and it became increasingly difficult to breathe.

It was the demon crown prince who had caused silence akin to that in a grave yard.

I instinctively looked at Ricardo, who wore a serious expression. Though it seemed the question was directed to Ricardo, I felt the need to defend myself but Ricardo beat me to it.

"If you didn't notice, Shawn. You lost the right to question me over my actions when you chose little miss fairy over there," he pointed with his chin to Charmaine with his arms in his pocket.

The tension in the room could be cut with a knife and it grew thicker a silence raged on.

I couldn't take any more.

"We're here to see our new leaders, the whole reason we woke up, isn't it?" I answered with a clearly forced smile.

Charmaine gently removed herself from her husband's protective hold, causing his brows to ever so slightly furrow in wonder of her intentions.

She made her way to the center of the two cribs, gazing lovingly upon her  sleeping offsprings before she softly uttered.

"Her name is Brielle Loselle"

She was .....not opposing? Just on which side was she?

"And his," she smiled, brushed the boy's soft hair with the delicate fingers and looked at Ricardo," his name is Alexander Loselle."

"Well thanks for the introduction, but I'll be back when the I'm actually needed," I angerly stated before I shrunk to my fairy size and flew out the balcony.

" Gina! Gina! Wait!"

Great, she had followed me. To think she still had the nerves to call me by that name.

"Don't call me that and go back to your love. The fairies no longer need you."

"Alright, I've had enough of your drama. I command you to stop right now, Regina!"

With that, my wings came to a halt in their fluttering. I hate this. I had to land and transform to my larger form.
Good thing their estate was large as it was, so no one was out here.

I glared at Charmaine as she landed gracefully infront of me. If looks could kill, her soul would be dead by now.

"I'm sorry for commanding you Regina, I know you hate that but.."

"You don't know anything about me. If you did, we wouldn't be here."

She kept quiet and thinned her lips. I didn't feel an ounce of empathy towards her, she didn't deserve it.

"I won't beg for you to forgive me. All am asking is that you take care of my daughter. I know I can trust you to do that and more."

I bored deeply into her crystal clear eyes and saw that she really meant what she said.

"Hopefully I'll be able to trust her not to backstab us."
I scoffed as flashes of our youth crossed my mind. We were in perfect harmony. How the times have changed.

"I know it's not my place to ask but..."she hesitated," Can you keep this all a secret from the twins?"

"At least you feel some shame huh?"

She continues to look at me unwaveringly, waiting for me to answer her.

"I will."

I let my beautiful wings spring forth and just as I was about to take off, I remembered.

"Just because you still posses the queen's power, doesn't mean you are. So stay away from the Meadows of Peace or else.....I can't guarantee your safety"

I then took flight and thankfully, she didn't tail me this time. My mind wondered back to a memory I had promised myself never to retrieve as I flew across the sky.

*********"
In the room
Shawn's POV

"I don't care what you think about me but if you as much as harm a hair on my son's head, I will make your miserable end known to the whole world."

Immediately Charmaine left the room,  I wasted no time in setting the rules.
Ricardo was a tricky demon, always has been.

I wouldn't trust him with my life even though he was the last person alive.
The thought of him "protecting" my son didn't settle right with me.

"Oh, you know I can take you on anytime of any day. Good thing am well rested. Bring it on," he laughed heartily as he pulled his sleeves back.

Always looking for trouble, seems he wasn't happy enough with the one that's already going on.

"I won't lower myself to duel with a rusty demon."

"Your one to talk, business man. Anyway, I won't be doing any harm to your junior so chill those dad nerves. I have a deal with the crown prince"

To any normal person, he might have sounded crazy but I knew he was serious.

I looked to my seemingly peaceful son soundlessly sleeping.
Your going to be really great someday, aren't you?"
