The city's air felt heavier than it did a century ago. Regina wondered what the humans had been up to in order to achieve this level of pollution.
With the bird's eye view she noticed a thick dark fume rising from a chimney of factory.
Trust humans to ruin the purity of even nothingness. They got tired killing the earth and came for the air.
Regina knew humans were weak creatures...the weakest at that. Hence their obsession with power and development.
If one gave it much thought, humans were the most dangerous creatures...worse than even the dreadful demons. Demons were honest of their evils, well not like she's met a lot of them....but the ones that she had the jinx of coming across were the most arrogant creatures.
Speaking if arrogance.... one demon came to mind. The presence of her crown princess knawed on her mind. Like it was imprinted there. She knew the direction to fly. Zooming across the cloudless blue sky, she found herself staring at an astounding mansion, that stood as the centrepiece in the lush green estate in all it's splendor.
So, that's where they've been living during this century? Trust the demons to flaunt their 'luxury' to the world.
The demons were creatures purely meant for deceit. From their features alone, their presence to what they seemingly own. All were meant to specifically entice naive creatures, who didn't know any better than to jump with joy into their killer's arms aka the humans.
Regina just had a really hard time believing someone chosen by the goddess could fall prey the leader of the heathen creature's charm.
As she drew nearer to the mansion, she noticed all the hustle and bustle going on. She could see servants frantically moving in and out of the house.
Now that she focused on it, the whole house seemed charged with giddy happiness.
On closer observation, she noticed that the servants were all humans.
Duh, obviously they are humans. All demons and fairies were in a century long slumber. What did you expect, werewolf servants?!
Her subconscious rudely interjected but was right. She just wondered how that demon prince got them all to work here.
Poor humans, probably sold their precious souls to the monster.
Regina had never personally met the rumoured demon prince - or so he was. Her thoughts on the prince were based on the fact that was engraved in her bones that all of his kind were not to be trusted.
Fairies and demons were naturally bipolar. They never saw eye to eye, ever. When two of the two different kinds met, they could feel the repulsion seeping from the depths of their souls.
That excludes the two traitors anyway.
The small ball of light that was Regina glided swiftly through the large balcony doors that were left open to allow the warm morning son to stream into the room.
Inside the room, she immediately reassumed her larger form as she stared at the two cribs infront of her.
This must be the crown princess' room. But why does the crown princess need two cribs?
Her footsteps were slow and light against the padded floor as she made her way to the cribs. Before she could get a glimpse of the princess, the door to the room swung open.
Two servants walked in with one reprimanding the other who had swung open the door in a whisper yelling manner.
"You fool! You act like you don't recall that the Loselle twins are sleeping in here!"
" Oh, sorry Cami. I'm just so excited, I've not yet seen them - unlike you."
"Well, it's not my fault that Mr. Loselle entrusted them in my care. Technically, it's your fault, but I know haters gonna hate"
The one named Cami winked playfully while softly nudging her friend in her sides.
"Oh, shut it and move. I didn't come here to listen to you show off."
The other servant brushed past her friend with a scowl that immediately morphed into a grin on seeing the little humans the cribs held.
"Oh my Lord! How can babies be so extra ordinarily beautiful! Cami, this is not normal, is it?!"
Cami just chuckled at her friend's antics with an amused expression on her heart shaped face.
Regina was intrigued by the maid's words. She knew humans had a habit of exaggerating situations , so she braces herself for disappointment as she inched closet to the cribs and stood at their foots.
When she finally set her sights on the young ones, she realized that the maid's fanatics were justified.
The babies slept soundly as the three women, one an invisible fairy fawned over them.
The one wrapped in blue beddings had long ink black lashes that lightly touched his raised cheekbone. His small thin pink lips were slightly parted as he gently in sound sleep.
Swaddled in pink cotton, her pink heart shaped lips pursed as she dreamt of her mother's breast in her mouth. She had thick crescent eyebrows too.
"Erin, if you keep shouting like that you'll wake them up,"
Cami said calmly but one could hear a smile in her voice. This friend of hers was definitely going to be the young ones' number one fan.
Erin immediately straightened up and sharply turned to face Cami bearing a serious look on her face and her tone matched her expression.
"Camilla, I thought we were friends."
One could here the hurt in her voice thick enough to be cut with a knife.
"Of course we are, Erin"
Cami was alert. Her friend was rarely serious and it was scaring her.
"That can't be true...if it were you would have brought me to meet these angels sooner"
Cami was first dumbfounded before she had to bite her inner lips to prevent herself from bursting out in laughter.
Erin was being upset over such a trivial matter.
She should have known, Erin can never be serious for a serious reason.
Regina on the other hand was oblivious to their banter. She had finally snapped out of the trangallfce she had entered and was finally analysing what was infront of her
Why were there twins? The queen has never in history birthed twins. She finally noticed the difference in hair colour in the twins' hair.
The girl had platinum blonde hair which was inherited from one queen to the next. Which meant she was the crown princess.
Looking at the boy's midnight black hair, how could these two be twins?
They looked nothing alike. As she continued to study the boy, she noticed that the room had quietened down.Cami must have finally managed to quell Erin's anger. Humans were really funny.
Refocusing her attention to the little boy, she noticed that the hair at the center of his head was platinum blonde.
Now that she thought of it, the demon prince was rumoured to have a thick head of black hair.
No, it possibly couldn't be. Could it?
"Regi darling, we meet again."
She froze in her thoughts at the voice. She knew it too well and if fairies weren't supposed to hate, then the next closest thing to that emotion is what she felt for him.
