Brielle's POV

"Alex, mom and dad are calling us to dad's study," l said as I gently pushed open the door to my brother's room and poked my head, in cutely smiling his way.

He was currently laying while facing the ceiling but his eyes were closed. One his legs was propped up on the bed (of course he was wearing only socks), the other folded and resting on the former.

His obsidian hair spread beautifully against his whit pillows. And that steak of platinum blonde shinning at the center like a candle in the dark. Okay, my brother was handsome! He got it all from my dad. If you weren't from my family, you would totally mistake the two to be the same person.

Given the fact does my dad no longer aged. Perks of being a demon.

And no, am not missing out. Fairies don't age either.
So I guess I should say, perks of being supernatural? Whatever.

"Brie, how many times have I told you to knock before coming in? I could have been naked for goodness sake!"

I scoffed before replying.
"Don't pretend you didn't hear me  approach the door. Seems your getting rusty already. Aunt Regina will be happy to hear that"

Alex was not fond of  my guardian, or as I called her, Aunt Regina.

"She's not your aunt. Stop calling her that."

He swung his long legs off the bed and came to his full height. It wasn't fair how the universe made boys naturally tall.

On the contrary to my brother, I was short. Okay, not that short. Like..average height. Alright I'll stop complaining.

"Let's go shorty." He said as he ruffled my blonde hair playfully," we shouldn't keep our dear parents waiting."

"Hey! I just curled it!," I yelled as I tried to get back at him, only to be reminded of my height as I jumped in vain as I attempted to reach his hair.

He laughed joyously at my situation. I was one of the people that made Alex laugh and trust me, we weren't very many. He was hard to please but I had the baby sibling advantage.

"Just accept you're vertically disadvantaged, Brie!" He managed in between the laughter.

The younger  maids in the halls blushed as they ogled Alex who I admit was even more handsome when he laughed. I pitied them because he was only like that with me.

With everyone else, he was as stubborn and arrogant as hell.

"Oh shut up!" I said as I pouted and stomped off in the direction of dad's study.

"Don't be like that Brie. You know it's true!" He yelled as he picked up his pace and caught up to me.

I however just ignored him as I climbed up the grand staircase, made a right turn and entered my father's study at the end of the hall.

He and my mom were both standing as they discussed something in hushed tones.

My abruptly entrance turned their attention to the door, to me. Oh, I forgot..

"Brielle, I told you. You should always knock before entering a room."

That was my mom. She is the nicest
person I've ever met. Honestly.

I really do not understand why Aunt Regina doesn't seem to like her though.

Before I could apologise, a knock came at the door. Who could have come to visit my dad this early morning?

"Come in," dad replied in a cool tone.

The visitor turned out to be the one and only Alexander.

"You see Brielle, you should be more like your brother. Now, let's get down to business as you are all here."

Alex shut the door behind him and strode to my side.

"Told you so," he whispered in a low tone.

I bit back my tongue, resisting the overwhelming urge to stick my tongue out at him.

"We have wonderful news for you two. Your mother and I have decided that you can finally go back to school, so you can finish your last year of high school from there."

I couldn't control the sequel that escaped me. I could finally study with other people. Other kids. Oh and I have many firsts to fill.

"That is considered good news? Well then I'll pass."

Of course Alexander the great didn't want to go to real school. He disliked people and the noise that came with them, generally crowds. A packaged deal he called them and always used me as the perfect example.

"Yes, it is good news Alex and I won't allow you to pass, we're twins. We stick together."

"Actually Brielle, I came out a good twenty second before you did. I came alone and you did," he dismissively answered.

"Wow! A whole twenty seconds?"

I asked with sarcasm dripping every letter of the sentence.

"Enough, you two," my dad's absolute but warm voice. He was way different from this when he was at the company. Even I could never approach him at work.

He was this cold and seemingly heartless man. Aside from his personal assistant Daniel, no one from the office knew of this side of dad.
They all cowered before him, probably getting the demon king vibes.

"Alex, your sister is right. You have to go too. For two reasons. One,not protect her and also to make connections. You will inherit the company after all."

"Protect her from what exactly? It's a high school, not a battle field," he asked.

Before dad could answer, I beat him to it.

"Bullies! And come on Alex, have you never seen a high school movie, the two a typically the same," Was my great answer.

"Plus, you are twenty seconds older. Assume your responsibility big bro," I finally got him for that. Ha!

"Fine. But am only doing it because I know Brielle is a total pushover," he caved in as he shot me a dirty glare.

I smiled cutely and hugged him in triumph.

"I knew you loved me too much!" I beamed.

"Yeah right!" He scoffed,"Get off me."

He tried to pry but I hung as tight as a koala. I  really loved my big brother.
