Chapter 9

I watch her back silently. We're on the upper left side of the beach, hiding behind the big bushes, as the ceremony of the union between Villareal and Spencer took place in this magical setting of the secluded place.

We arrived here earlier. I'm with my brother, but he's the only one who's present at the ceremony. I chose to stay with Celestine and be her guard in the meantime.

Nag dress at nag pa ganda pa sya hindi naman sya magpapakita. Kahit ako napa bihis pa ng magandang damit pero mag tatago lang naman kami dito.

Bumaba ang tingin ko sa kanang braso nya hanggang sa wrist part. May naka kabit kasing bracelet duon na medyo malapad na manipis. Kung titignan mo parang accecory lang iyon pero kapag pinindot ko ang remote na nasa loob ng bulsa ng trouser ko ay mag re-release ng boltahe ng kuryente ang bracelet dahilan para manghina sya in case na tumakas sya.

This is the only thing I can think of to control her when we're outside. Na sa akin din ang susi niyon kaya hindi nya basta basta matatanggal sa katawan nya kahit gustuhin pa nya.

"She's so beautiful."—she spoke after a long time of silence. She put down the monocular and released a deep sigh. "How I wish I was my sister."

Her voice sounds so lonely.

"Hey.."

I swallowed hard when she faced me wearing her signature smile, which could make everyone fall if you're clueless about her real identity. I cleared my throat and composed myself.

"The ceremony is about to end. Shall we leave now?"

Sabi naman kasi ni kuya pwede na kami maunang umalis kung ma bored itong isa sa panunuod.

"Leigh..come closer." - she softly said.

Naguguluhan man ay lumapit pa din ako. Mabilis na yumakap sya sa akin at bumuntong hininga.

"Thank you." - she said, and I felt her hug tighten a bit. "The scene hurts me."

"Sabi ko naman kasi huwag na tayong pumunta."

She chuckled softly and rested her face in the crook of my neck. It's ticklish, but I don't want to be rude right now. She's broken-hearted.

"I want to see her in her happiest day. Hindi man ako ang pinakasalan nya, kamukha ko pa din naman kaya okay lang siguro iyon."

"Do I need to remind you that you did something?"

"I know. You don't need to remind me that I'm bad."- she hissed and bit my shoulder.

I push her a little, but she goes back to hugging me. My heart is beating fast. I hope she's not feeling it.

"Leigh, I'm sorry."

"Wh---"

Bago ko pa matapos ang sinasabi ko ay naramdaman ko na ang paghampas nya ng monocular sa gilid ng ulo ko. Nakaramdam ako ng hilo dahil malakas iyon. Tinulak nya ako ng bahagya at maingat na sinandal sa gilid ng mga halaman.

"I'm sorry." - she said again, standing up. My vision is blurry, but I still know where she went.

Damn it! Hindi sya pwedeng makawala. Kung pupunta sya sa loob ng gubat mahihirapan akong hanapin sya mamaya.

Hindi ko alam kung ilang minuto ako nakapikit dahil nang maalimpungatan ako ay bumalikwas agad ako ng bangon. Hindi ko ininda ang sakit ng ulo ko at lumakad na agad.

My phone rang from my pocket, but I didn't answer it. My brother will scold me for losing Celestine. I'll deal with him later.

Tinakbo ko ang lugar kung saan ko sya nakitang magpunta bago ako mawalan ng malay.
