"Come on, auntie Jean!"
"Klee! Be careful! You might slip on the ice"
Jean sighed as the little girl galloped into the town square, waving her hands around to catch the snowflakes falling down. The grandmaster was right now fulfilling Klee's request to marvel at the Christmas decorations. The city was illuminated by christmas lights, and dressed in green wreaths with shimmering red ribbons.
She tugged onto her cloak for warmth as she smiled in awe at how beautiful her home look. However, she couldn't enjoy it for long when she realized the exploding loving girl was gone. "Klee? Klee!" She yelled in alarm, scanning around for the girl. Her eyes glanced down to find small little footprints leading outside of town. Jean started to get nervous and ran around in search of Klee with the tracks being her clue Whenever the young Pyro vision holder ran off, two things can happen: either Klee was in danger or someone was endanger because of Klee.
"WAAAAAH!"
And it's Klee in danger this time. Once she heard the large cry, Jean followed after the source of the sound, her vision already glowing incase she had to use her full power. It came near the Dawn Winery so she made her way over there, hoping no harm had come to Klee.
"Klee?! Klee!" Jean called out, scanning around the winery until she spotted something red. Turning her blue eyes to it, she spotted Diluc with his blazing red hair, kneeling down to someone, sitting on a bench. It looked like he was tending to someone.
Walking closer, she could a familiar little girl in a red dress, brown boots and a red hat perched on her cream colored pigtails as blue drops of water streamed down her face. "Klee!" Jean said with relief as she ran up to them, getting their attention.
"Ah. Grandmaster Jean. Greetings" he told her, standing up. "Master Diluc. Hi. And happy holidays. Thank you for finding Klee for me" she told him gratefully, pulling onto her cloak for warmth. She glanced down at Klee and saw her black leggings torn with blood seeping through.
"I heard Klee crying and came to find she had slipped on ice and scraped her knees. Adelinde is getting some bandages now" Diluc explained to her as Jean knelt down to Klee's height.
"Oh Klee. I told you not to run on the ice. And you shouldn't have run off from me. What if something and I wasn't there?" She gently but firmly scolded her. She wasn't mad at Klee. Just worried about her.
"Sorry auntie Jean sniff sniff" Klee said, rubbing her wet nose and eyes from the crying. The grandmaster sighed but she was glad to see the young child alright. She spotted Adelinde approaching with the bandages as Jean stood up, looking at Diluc. "Thank you so much, Diluc. Really. I don't know what I would do if something happened to Klee" she said to him, grateful that it was him that gound her. If it was a stranger, they would've easily took advantage of a child like Klee and do who knows what.
"Normally, I wouldn't approach Klee since she isn't fond of me much. But when I heard her crying and found her hurt, I couldn't just leave her there" he explained, glancing at the small girl being tended by the maid. Klee was chatting with Adelinde which seemed to be her saying thanks as Adelinde told her no worries.
Jean felt a chill hit against her bare collarbone and shoulders, making her hold tightly on her cloak for warmth. Diluc noticed this, and scanned the weather around them. It started to pick up a little. "As soon as Klee is tended, we'll head back home" Jean said but suddenly she felt something heavy draped around her shoulders.
She glanced up to find Diluc staring at her while making sure his jacket was wrapped around her securely. The snow lightly dotted his red hair as he looked at her. Her face heated up by his move but he thought it was from the weather.
"The weather is picking up. Maybe best you and Klee stay here for now until it's calm down. I'll have Adelinde prepare some warm drinks for you both" he told her, catching Klee's attention as she excited. "Like hot coco?! Gasp! Oh please auntie Jean! Can we stay with uncle Diluc for a bit?" She begged her, giving her big puppy eyes. Adelinde chuckled at the girl as Jean smiled at her while Diluc looked at the grandmaster. "Well, why not. How can I say no when there's hot chocolate?" She said jokingly as the red hair smiled at her. "Thank you Diluc. Really" she told him, pulling his jacket closer as he nodded to her as everyone got inside where some nice hot chocolate was waiting.
