"Are you here to spy on me?"
Eula asked with a hint of annoyance in her voice as her arms lowered down, and she turned her head to see someone leaning against a tree. Despite its shadow, along with the dark of the nighttime hiding them, she could see their one blue eye standing out from the darkness. She could feel them smirk smirk back at her smirk as they clapped their hands.
"Spying is such an ugly word. I would prefer admiring the performance from afar"
Kaeya leaned off the tree, entering the light of the moon as he approached the blue hair knight who stared back at him with unamusement and irritation. "Well, you certainly have a usual and suspicious way of showing admiration for my skills. One would have assumed that you may be to get rid of me since I'm a member of the Lawerance clan. Mark my words, vengeance will be mine!" She exclaimed, determined as her hands settled on her hips.
Kaeya chuckled amusingly at the way she talked. While confusing the first time, it's clear that it is her own kind of communication. "Then pardon me for giving you such a fright. If it pleases you, maybe there is some way that I can do to earn your forgiveness" he said, circling her until he stopped and made a small bow. His arm extended out to her as his palm opened. A sign of permission to join the dance.
"I wouldn't wish to face the bone-chilling wrath of the once mighty Lawerance clan" he said jokingly, knowing how to communicate with the ex heir of Mondstadt's most ruthless aristocrats.
She stared at his hand and then back at him with unamusement in her face. "And you also have the audacity to flatter me in the name of my clan. Hmph! Someone like you can not be allowed to go unpunished. Very well. Prepare to meet defeat by my hands, captain Kaeya" she declared, taking his hand in hers.
The cyro captain of the knights smiled at her, pleased to see she had accepted his offer for a dance. When he had learned from Amber that Eula was a good dancer, he had been hoping to share a dance with her. He had seen her way of fighting. It was based on dancing. One he was familiar with from the fancy parties and galas that was hosted here in Mondstadt. Now that he had caught her in the act, he could join in the dance.
To her surprise, he was quite a good dancer. While his dancing was different from the one in her family clan, it was similar. She had assumed he couldn't possibly know how dance the way an aristocrat would.
"How shocking. You acted with such bravado, I had assume you would not dance as well as I could" she told him, glancing down as she smiled a little. She was actually impressed.
"You dance as nicely as you talk to your fellow knights" she noted as he chuckled amused, glad to see he had gotten to speak normally rather than using sentences that make you think she's want to kill you.
"Well, if I am to challenge to the infamous Lawerance, I might as well put on a good fight with her. Even if I lose, at least I can rest satisfied that I impressed my opponent" he explained as he spun her, setting his hands on her waist. Eula gasped softly at his touch, making him chuckle. Her reaction brought him satisfaction as he found her breaking her character adorable to him.
"Y-You sir are so....infuriating!" She stammered as her face reddened, not sure how to bring her guard back up. She got more agitated when he laughed, pleased to see that he had not only gotten her to join him in a dance but also got her flustered.
"Oh? It seems I am winning this lovely battle" he noted as a one blue eye held a mishevious glint and without warning, he twirled her around and dipped her. Holding her hand while his other wrapped around her waist, Eula looked at him, stunned as he leaned in to whisper in her ear.
"Should I land the final move?"
Eula felt a shiver run down her back from that. She hated that he was enjoying this. He had the upper hand in this dance due to her underestimating his dancing skills. Kaeya could only be satisfied that he had managed to get this far in the dance and take the lead. However, she refused to let him win this dance.
Eula stomped her foot on the ground, allowing ice to spread beneath their heels. The move caught Kaeya off guard as his feet struggled to keep him standing on the icy surface.
Amused at seeing him falter, Eula grabbed his arms and spun him away from her. Kaeya swung his arms to keep him balance until his feet felt the soft grass again. The Spindrift knight gracefully slid off the ice with ease. Her heels met the grass as they made eye contact.
"Well played, Kaeya. You truly impressed me. But you will have to do more than unleashing sneak attacks to defeat me. Next time, vengeance will be mine" she vowed as she walked away with a small smile on her face. She couldn't remember the last time she danced and someone surprised her. It was nice. Kaeya could only watch as he recovered from that surprise. "Heh. The next dance will be mine, Eula" he mumbled, finding this dance brought him closer to knowing her better. He would just have to keep practicing.
