Chapter 9

Ingrid's POV

Ava believed that the person who killed me had some connection with some strange happenings around our universe and when Ava, Damian, and I were at Ava's house she got a call from Agent Sky and he told her to check out a town named Ravenwood about 21 km away from her house but we didn't care how far away it was because we all could teleport anywhere we want to. 

And that's how we ended up at the main road of Ravenwood. There was a board with Ravenwood written on it with an arrow pointing to the left. We all looked to a town which didn't look strange at all. It looked like a happy town with the most amazing people being confused. I asked Ava "Are you sure we came to the right place?"

"Yeah I have been here before, why did you ask?"  She replied 

"It is nothing like I imagined it to be and it looks very normal to me," I said 

"It looks normal to me too but don't you feel something weird like a feeling of power that I have never felt before" she said

"I agree, what about you Damian?" I asked Damian not to make him feel left out

"You both are right that's what I'm trying to figure out too," He said

"Well let's go in and see it for ourselves" Ava said moving forward with me and Damian following 

As we got closer to the actual town we realized just how quiet the whole town really was, like not even a single voice was heard. As we were about 30 meters away from the town Ava suddenly stopped and said "Don't move any further there seems to be an invisible shield or something over here"

"So what are we going to do now?" Damian asked 

"Wait a minute let me see what it is," Ava said observing what was in front of us

After a few minutes of carefully trying to understand what it was, she said "This is a magical shield which stops everybody from going inside"

"So now what will we do?" I asked 

"We both can go inside but it might affect Damian so I'll just put a protective shield around him so he can also come inside" She replied 

"Yeah let's do it" Said Damian 

Ava put a protective shield around Damian and then we moved forward, passed through the thick layer of magic and went inside the town. "What is this?" I asked shocked by what I was seeing 

"All these people are not moving from their positions I think that someone has stopped the time here" Ava said

"But that's not possible is it?" I asked 

"No it's not possible for normal sorcerers but if you are powerful enough or have hands on some spells then you can do it" Ava replied 

Then we went to explore the town and see if we could get some clues. every single person in the town was not moving even the birds and animals. I was shocked by looking at all these people even though I have been with Ava to explore many places this one took me back the most as I always thought of these explorations as fun stuff and this was too but just the thought of this all being connected to my death made it more shocking.

"So who do you think did this?" I asked as we all met up in the middle of the town.

"I honestly have no idea who could have done this" She replied

"But I do," Damian said and Ava turned back to look at him 

"Who is it?" Ava asked

"Somebody that I used to know but the things between him and me are not the same anymore" Damian said

"Alright then tell us who is behind this" Ava said getting serious

"I will tell you but-" Damian was trying to explain but Ava cut him off by saying "See Damian I don't want you to waste our time by even a minute so just get to the point" 

"Yes I will but at least let me speak" He said

"Yes, go ahead" Ava said, crossing her arms and looking straight at Damian.

When I looked at him he looked back with guilty eyes with a hope that at least I would understand him but even if I do understand him I cannot defend a guy that I just met to go against my own best friend.

"Can we go to your house and talk about this I don't know if you guys feel it too but I constantly feel like somebody's watching me?" He said 

"Yeah I feel it too" I added 

"Okay sure let's go home and talk about this," Ava said teleporting back 

"Hey, Ingrid-" Damian was trying to say something but I cut him off by "Let's talk back at the house" and with that I teleported back too leaving him alone.
