Chapter 8

Ava's POV

I've always had a passion for solving mysteries since my childhood, yet I never envisioned a day when I would be investigating my best friend's murder. Damian and I have been diligently working to unravel the mystery surrounding Ingrid's tragic death. The challenge has heightened due to her memory loss, leaving us grappling not only with the 'who' but also the 'why.'

Navigating through the intricate web of the investigation with Damian proved more challenging than I anticipated. Each lead we pursued seemed to end in a dead end, leaving us with more questions than answers. The frustration grew, casting a shadow on our collaboration. It wasn't just the investigation that felt odd; there was an unspoken tension between Damian and me. The air crackled with a strange energy, and every shared glance hinted at a mystery that extended beyond the confines of our search for Ingrid's killer.

Me, Damian, and Ingrid were at my house planning on what to do next when I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket. I took it out to see that Agent Sky was calling me. 

I picked it up and said, "Hello Sky what happened?"

"Hey Ava, So you know we had a meeting about some strange occurrences we had noticed," He said

"Yes, what about that?" I asked 

"So at the moment we discussed that we will contact you if needed so right now we need a little help if you're not busy," He said

"I would be happy to help but can you give me more information about what I have to do?" I said knowing that these strange occurrences most probably had connections with Ingrid's death 

"So there is a town named Ravenwood about 21 km away from your house and we are not able to get in any contact with the people of town after we observed disturbances in the magnetic field of the town" He informed me 

"Sure I'll try to go and check as soon as I can but I have someone over and he's good at this stuff mind if he tags along with me?" I said 

"Yes we won't mind as long as the public doesn't know about this" He replied 

"Alright sure hope to meet you when you're free after this," I told him

"Yeah sure see you soon bye!" He said

"See ya," I said as I hung up the call

"What happened?" Ingrid asked 

"So some time ago I went to a meeting with the 'government officials' and they told me that they had been observing some strange happenings around the world and they needed my help and told me that they would give me a call if they needed me and I agreed because I knew that it had some connection with your death so I agreed to help them" I replied 

"I see, so what do they need help with?" Ingrid said

"Well there is a town named Ravenwood about 21 km away from my house and they have observed some strange happening in that town so they want us to go and check it out" I replied 

"So are we going?" Ingrid asked 

"Yes, we are, " I said "Are you coming along with us Damian?" I asked Damian who was strangely silent the whole conversation like he wasn't there.

"Yes sure I'm coming along with you guys " He replied 

Third person POV 

Then all three of them departed to Ravenwood hoping to find clues about Ingrid's death but they had no idea about what surprise awaited them there.....

Author's POV: hey guys! I could not update last week as I was out of the station and I feel like I'm literally apologizing in every single chapter but I think at this point you all are pretty used to me not being consistent but I am truly thankful for all the support that I'm getting and this one ended on a cliffhanger to keep the mystery alive but stay updated for the next chapter cuz now things are gonna get interesting but I'll see ya in my new chapter till then comment down your guesses on what's gonna happen next and also if you guys have any feedback and suggestions just reach out to me cuz it helps me improve my writing but hope you have a great Day/night!
