My lucky Charm

12 | Strong hold

Continuation of Rajan's thought about earlier happenings.

Just then my phone rang. I ordered her to hand me the phone , which she did after I ordered her.

It was a call for the interview in a big marketing firm for a good position. While going I saw Ramya trying to hide from me. Still I took a quick look at her.

To me , she is my lucky charm. Every time I see he, something good happens for me.

I wanted to crack this interview. And just as I thought, the same day I got selected as a Digital Marketing Manager.

The courses that I learnt , the experience that I had, my extra hands on experience did during my leisure time, all helped me out in securing this job.

In addition to that, if I could join immediately the next day, I was promised to give a joining bonus of 50K. I immediately agreed to it.

While I was returning from the interview, I got a call from Satheesh. Satheesh did not talk with me properly after hearing my marriage news. He was upset of my sudden marriage and not inviting him.

He started shouting at me for hiding the truth. After a minute I understood, what he was referring to .

Sunita and my parents were already aware of this dowry matter. My parents too shouted at me for hiding it from them.

Since then, hearing the dowry matter Sunita suggested Satheesh to stop this marriage stating some silly reasons. She was infact behaving weirdly with him for the past 3 days.

Satheesh fought with his parents upon coming to know about the dowry matter.

He spoke with them to give back the dowry they got from me. He headed to my house to meet up with my Parents and Sunita.

I asked apologies to Satheesh for hiding this truth. He forgave me and assured that he wants only my sister and not the money.

I decided to first make a call to Satheesh parents to set things right first. To my surprise, they did not throw any tantrums and agreed to proceed with marriage.

In fact, they felt sorry for me for getting married to Ramya because of this dowry.

Satheesh parents are also now normal and does not hold any grudge for the issue happened with the dowry matter.

Sunita informed me about Ramya's vanavasam inside our room. I told her about Ramya's birthday today and asked her to start with the preparations.

Darting to the present, me and Ramya are now inside our room.

"how did you know its my birthday today" she asked

"I ... I saw your aadhar card while signing the registrar"

"ohh.. ok thanks" she stood there for few seconds and then darted to the side.

May be she thought I would gift her something. I saw her taking the pillow and bedsheet to spread it on the floor.

"Ramya, sleep with me tonight"

With an astonishment she looked at me. No. no.. I did not mean it that way...I facepalmed myself mentally for my choice of words.

"I ... no.. I actually meant you sleeping on the bed just like you were earlier"

"no.. that .. I am just unlucky..."

"offo.. Ramya.. just stop calling yourself as Unlucky" I started narrating what all good things has happened till now after our marriage.

Still she did not believe me and stood with her heads down. "what if I had exhibited only unluck after our marriage?"

"I would still accept you , not only me, my parents and sister too. There is something good in everything Ramya. Always think positively.

I heard from your parents that your previous wedding was stopped. Thank God that it stopped. What if they torture you later on after marriage. What if they send you out of the house because of your unluckiness?"

"Even our marriage got delayed . It was supposed to happen on Monday." she spoke in a low voice.

"That too is for good. On Friday, the crowd was very less in the registrar office. So we were able to finish our marriage soon and easily.

Moreover, getting married on Friday is auspicious. And it was easy for me to get half a day leave than Monday"

"whatever you say, I am not convinced. I will maintain a distance from you" she said and slept on the floor on the mat.

I decided not to leave her like this. She is just too stubborn in accepting it. I too went and slept near her on the floor.

Seeing me sleeping beside her, she sat up. "Why do you want to sleep here? go sleep on the bed"

"why should I? I will sleep here with you"

"Pcch.. pls understand..."

"no .. no way"

"then I will go and sleep on the bed, you sleep here on the floor.

I seriously don't understand her logic of sleeping separately in the same room. What change it will bring in the luck? I don't know. She has really gone nuts thinking about luck and unluck.

Seeing her lying on the bed, I too hopped on beside her. Ramya got frustrated and initiated to get down. But I quickly wrapped my hands on her waist and brought back near me.

"Rajan..." she spoke with shock at my act. But I did not bother. I hugged her tight and threw my legs on her making it impossible to move from me. I don't have other option than this. She is just too stubborn in her stand.

I closed my eyes with my hands and legs still on her. "How long are you going to look at me like this?" I asked without opening my eyes, sensing her looking at me with her face turned towards me.

She tried to get out of my hold. But her gesture only tightened my hold on her. "If you try to get out of me, I won't have a second thought to kiss you on your lips"

That surely did the trick. She remained stiff. I did not have any other option than this. What else can I do to make her stay with me? Tell me.

But I am not going to leave her. How much ever she deny the connection between us, I am going to make her accept that.
