"You won't believe who I just saw," Remus carried the pair's luggage as they made their way from the train to the carriages.

Jovie hummed for him to continue as he gave her a hand into a carriage, the blonde being washed over with nostalgia. She looked at the horse pulling the carriages, her frown deepening.

Her first time here, she couldn't see those.

Remus frowned, seeing the expression on his friend's face, "Jo?"

"I'm fine," she smiled, "who'd you see?"

"Harry, and his friends Hermione and Ron," he smiled, "it's been awhile, he's grown a lot. He looks just like James' but he has Lily's eyes."

Jovie tucked her blonde hair away behind her ears, a somber smile playing at her lips, "I wonder if we'll ever get to tell him."

"Yeah," Remus pursed his lips, "I never agreed with Dumbledore on that. You and Sirius should've taken Harry in, Merlin knows he would've been better off with you all."

The blonde nodded, "yeah, now we barely know him."

"Have you heard anything about Mary?"

Jovie nodded, "yeah, she's living in a cottage somewhere in the countryside. Apparently she still hasn't regained her memories."

"It's crazy," Remus sighed, "seeing all of our friends' kids together. They look just like us."

Jovie looked a few carriages back to see what Remus was talking about. Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, and Luna were all sitting together, laughing about something.

She thought back to their times in the grandhall, all of them at a table, laughing and fighting. Most of those people were dead now.

"We're here," Remus stood, opening the carriage door.

Jovie took the hand he leant to her, stepping down to the ground. She pulled her hat further down on her head, it's old and beyond retirement but she can't bring herself to give it up. It's the only part of Reggie she has left.

Before they can start towards the door they're interrupted, a group of kids approaching them. Hermione is at the front of the crowd smiling.

   "Mr. Lupin is it?"

Remus smiled, "that would be Professor Lupin."

Ron's face twisted in confusion, "professor? Are you new?"

   "The new DADA professor, yes."

Harry smiled, "and you must be his wife?"

Jovie felt her smile grow as she looked down at Harry, "funny, my husband is- was your dad's best friend. Professor Lupin is more like...my brother."

Harry's eyes widened, "you know my parents?"

Jovie grinned, "they were basically my family. I knew your parents too," she turns to Ron, Neville, and Luna.

   Luna looked shocked, "my mom?"

Jovie nodded, "yup, you look just like her."

"Even my parents??" Neville raised his hands.

"Yeah! I was there when they got married."

The kids all exchanged awed glances.

"Hey," Ron's eyes narrowed, "you look like Cassie, are you her mom?"

"Technically, Cas looks like me," she chimes, her smile growing.

This is how it should've been all along. To Jovie, the minute she lost Harry she had officially lost everything. Her daughter hadn't been born yet and her husband had been imprisoned.

It was just her and Remus.

   "Jo? Why're you awake?"

The blonde was quiet, leaning against the counter, her hands wrapped around her stomach. It was exploding out of her now, taking up so much of her body she couldn't see her toes.

   Remus walked over to her.

It took seven steps until they were almost touching, her stomach slightly bumping his.

After the accident, after everything had fallen apart, Remus took it upon himself to pick Jovie up, dust her off, and get her back on her feet. So he had single handedly packed up her and sirius' stuff and moved her in with him.

He made sure she got to every appointment, she ate three times a day, and that she never gave up.

She had almost been able to smile again. Then, Dumbledore decided Harry would be put in the care of Petunia, Lily's sister.

It destroyed Jovie all over again.

Remus brushed the blonde's hair away, "Jovie?"

She looked up, tears brimming in her eyes, "Rem?"

   "I'm here."

   "You can't go."

He nodded, pressing a kiss to her forehead, "I'm not going anywhere."

   "Promise."

   "I promise."

And from that day on, Remus had been filling the space Sirius left.

They both knew he could never replace him, Remus would never even try. He was still his own person, still big brother Remus, just with the responsibilities of a father, of a husband.

   And they were content.

Harry frowned, "so if both of you knew my parents why are we just meeting now?"

Jovie's face fell, "we aren't, trust me we aren't." She placed her hands on her knees, leaning to be eye level with her godson.

"I wish we could've gotten to know each other better before, but now," she set a hand on his head, "we have all the time in the world."

   Harry smiled, "yeah...yeah, okay."

Remus grinned, "you kids should run along, wouldn't wanna be late for the feast."

"Bloody hell! He's right! Let's go Mione!" Ron pulled on the girl's cloak, her complaining as he dragged her away.

Luna waved, "nice meeting you, I'd love to talk to the two of you about my mother sometime."

Neville waved as well, "yeah! Same!"

Harry stood still, staring up at the two adults, "I have one more question. If you're Cassie's mom but Professor Remus isn't your husband...who's...?"

The blonde sighed, "I hope you'll get to meet him someday."
