Jovie walked silently at the head of the group as they made their way back to the castle, her arms wrapped around her as the tears on her cheeks dried. Her eyes were hollow and she didn't know what to feel so she decided she'd just go back home and figure it out.

They made it out of the tunnel, Harry and Hermione setting Ron down. Jovie decided that instead of facing Sirius she would help the children, so she bent, examining Ron's injury.

"How're you feeling Ron?"

Harry looked up at her, "don't you think you should..."

Jovie frowned, "I- I can't."

"What if..." Harry shrugged, "we go together."

Jovie contemplated before sighing, standing up. She held out a hand to Harry, helping pull him from his seat and the two started over towards where Sirius had gone.

They stopped just short of him, the man staring at Hogwarts.

"Beautiful isn't it? I'll never forget the first time I walked through those doors." He sighed, eyes flickering to the blonde beside him, "it'll be nice to do it by your side again."

The blonde felt his fingers tap hers and her heart swooned. This was all she needed. He was still her Sirius. All the madness had faded and left the small shell of the man she loved.

Everything else could be dealt with later, she took his hand.

"I don't know if you know Harry," Sirius sighed, "but when you were born James and Lily made us your god parents."

"I know."

Jovie's eyes softened, "you knew? Harry I-"

"I wish you'd told me sooner," the boy sighed.

Jovie nodded, looking back out into the distance, "well I would understand if you chose to continue staying with your aunt and uncle. But...if you ever wanted another home..."

Harry looked up at the woman, "I could come live with you?"

She smiled, "Only if you wanted-"

"Harry!"

At the sound of Hermione's voice everyone turned, the girl pointing at the full moon appearing from behind the clouds.

Jovie's eyes widened, "Remus!"

She took off running, Sirius watching her sprint towards Remus. He knew how long he'd been gone, he knew the way he left was cruel.

He watched Jovie's frantic worriedness as she held Remus, the man scolding her and telling her to run away.

Could it be possible they...?

"Rem! Did you take your medicine?" Jovie held the man, waiting for a response.

He groaned in pain, twitching and sweating as he dropped his wand, beginning to transform. Jovie shook her head, "Remus no! Stop it!"

Sirius soon joined her side, "Jovie you can't stop him, go with the kids."

Jovie nodded as she ran over to the kids, positioning herself in front of them. It was only then, under the moonlight, they were able to take notice of the faint claw marks that lay on her cheek.

"Jovina!" Snape emerged from the tunnel, his wand drawn, "you-"

"Snape move!"

Remus swiped at them, sending the two adults to the ground. Jovie's mind suddenly flashed back to that night so many years ago. The night Snape had solidified her hatred when he left ehr for dead.

Just as Remus was going to attack again Sirius appeared in dog form, fighting him off. He led him away, the two running over the hill.

"Sirius!" Jovie followed them.

"Jovie!" Harry shouted.

The two ran to the top of the hill, watching as Remus threw Sirius to the side at the bottom of it. Just as he was about to finish him off, there was a howl in the distance, the wolf running off to investigate.

Jovie watched as Sirius stumbled off, her eyes widening, "Sirius!"

She and Harry followed him down to the lake, watching as Sirius collapsed on the rocks on the shore. She ran over to him, kneeling to scan his injuries.

"Sirius answer me!" She ripped off her scarf, applying pressure to the wound.

"J-Jovie?"

The blonde raised her head to see what Harry was calling her for, the girl being met with hundreds of dementors. Shit.

One swooped down, beginning to suck the life force from Sirius.

"No!" Jovie frantically searched for her wand only to realize she had left it at home.

"Expecto patronum!" Harry shouted, a light appearing from his wand.

It appeared Remus' lessons had been paying off.

The shield held for a moment before being broken down, Harry being thrown to the ground, a dementor swooping at him.

"Harry!" Another swooped for Sirius, "Sirius!"

Jovie didn't know what to do.

Just then she felt an aching in her chest, a dementor appearing in front of her. She let out a scream, it felt like someone was slowly ripping her heart from her chest.

A light flashed, engulfing the lake.

Jovie felt her eyes roll back, the girl falling forwards.
