It was a beautiful snowy night in The Boiling Isles. Everyone on the island had gathered around The Owl House for a very special show. There was a lot up stage with beautiful green and red curtains covering it.

The crowd murmured to themselves as they waited for the show to start. And peeking from behind the curtain, was a young man with spiky blue hair, wearing a Christmas sweater and a Santa hat. His name is Jake Moon.

And next to him, was a young woman about the same age as him, but slightly younger. Her name is Hevanora Kurayami. But she goes by her foster name, Makayla Light, by most people.

"Is everything alright, bro?" Makayla asked. "You look nervous."

"I. . . I'm not nervous." Jake said. "I'm just. . . getting ready for the show."

"Yeah. . . you're nervous." Makayla teased. "I can see it in your eyes."

"Anyway. . . have you got the list of contestants ready for the show?" Jake asked.

"Right here." Makayla said, handing Jake an envelope.

"What's this for?" Jake asked.

"It's a random name picker." Makayla said with a smile. "You pull a name from the envelope and that's who goes up to perform. Pretty smart, huh?"

"I guess so." Jake said, putting the envelope in his pocket.

At that moment, a young woman walked up to the two of them, also wearing a Christmas sweater and a winter hat. Her name is Melissa Shield.

"You can do this, Jake." Melissa said with a smile. "I believe in you."

Jake smiled. "Thanks, Mel. You're right." Jake said. "I planned this all year. I have to go through with it."

"That's my Jake." Melissa said, as she gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Now go and blow their minds."

Jake nodded confidentially and Makayla gave him a double thumbs up. Jake turned towards the front of the stage and was about ready to go.

Jake then took out a festive walkie talkie and spoke into it. "It's time for my introduction." He said. "Kill the lights."

With that said, the lights surrounding the stage all turned off, which caught everyone's attention. They all looked towards the stage as a small black demon creature with yellow eyes and a skull on its head, and was wearing a Christmas sweater as well, walked up on stage. His name is King.

"Greetings, fellow witches and demons!" King said. "Welcome to the first ever Moon Family Musical Christmas Spectacular! I am *not* your host, but you will soon meet him!"

"Aww, he's so cute up there in his little sweater!" Makayla cooed, seeing the young demon on the stage.

"Alright. . . here I go." Jake said.

"Break a leg, son!" The voice of an older woman called from backstage.

"Thanks, Eda!" Jake called back.

Jake took a deep breath and waited for the right moment.

King continued his speech. "Introducing the one, the only, the awesome, the truly magnificant-"

"Just get on with it already." Jake hissed form behind the curtains.

"Witches and Gentle-Demons. . . I present to you. . . your host, Jake Moon!" King said, as he stepped to the side.

Jake then burst through the curtains as the lights shine brighter upon him and everyone cheers.

"Thank you, King." Jake said. "That's right, folks! This is the first ever live-show that we have ever put on, here on the isles. And the first live-show I guarantee that any of *you* have seen!"

The crowd cheered once again.

"I'd like to thank The Boiling Isles' own first full human visitor, Luz Noceda, for coming up with this brilliant idea." Jake said. "Unfortunately, she will not be performing at tonight's show. But she is in the crowd, so say 'hi' where you can during the short intermissions."

"Yeah, go Luz!" A voice shouted from the crowd. "You rock!"

"Okay then. With that out of the way, let's get on with the show." Jake said with a smile. "But before we announce the first performer, I'd like to go over some things about the show. There will be a total of eight-"

Suddenly, Kong came back up to the stage as Jake leaned down and Long whispered something in his ear.

"Really? But I could've sworn their were eight." Jake whispered.

King continued to whisper something.

"There was a last minute add-on?" Jake said. "Well, shoot. . . why didn't you say so sooner? Whatever, it's fine."

King then went back backstage.

"Uh. . . make that nine performances tonight." Jake said. "We've got people from my family, my sister's family, and even some special guests that you may know very well. And a couple others. I've went through the roster and. . . yep. That about covers it all. So, who's ready for some fun?"

The crowd then cheered once again as Jake smiled.

"Alright, we're all so stoked to be here tonight." Jake said. "Let's get this show on the road! Time for our first performance."

Jake took out the envelope and opened it up, to reveal the first contestant. "Our first performance tonight is. . ." He said, looking at the name. "King Clawthorne!"
