The Moon Family's Musical Christmas Spectacular!

Performance #7: Douxie

Jake took out a name from the envelope. And with only a few left, he could easily attempt to predict who would be next.

"Next up is. . ." Jake said as he read the name. "Oh. . . Hisirdoux Casperan."

"Yes, finally!" Douxie said, happily. "I've been waiting for so long!"

Jake groaned and face-palmed. "Oh, alright. Couldn't get any worse." He said, under his breath.

"Oh, you're really in for a treat this evening." Douxie said, happily walking up on stage. "In the spirit of Christmases gone by, I've prepared a traditional carol."

"Oh boy. . ." Jake said from backstage.

"This selection is titled 'Ring Little Bells'." Douxie explained. "Or, in its original German, "Kling, Glöckchen"."

"Kling What-chen?" Knuckles asked, confused.

"Yeah. . . I don't know either." Melissa said.

At that moment, music began to play and Douxie began to sing.

Douxie: "Ring bells,
go ting-a-ling-a-ling,
ring little bells
Oh, how cold the winter,
will you let me enter?
Do not bar the doorway
on my blessed birthday
Ring bells
go ting-a-ling-a-ling,
ring little bells"

Suddenly, Douxie conjured up a row of bells and used a pull string to ring each of them in a melodic rhythm.

"See look, I'm ringing the little bells, just as the song suggests." Douxie said with a smile in his face.

"Can I ring the little bells too?" Makayla asked, hopeful, from backstage.

"Makayla!" Jake called from the back.

"Of course!" Douxie said, gesturing Makayla up on stage.

Makayla happily ran up next to Douxie and began to ring the bells with him. "This is fun!" She said.

"Yes! Isn't it? Ring, ring little bells, ring!" Douxie said in a giddy tone, before looking at Makayla with a smile. "Sing with me, won't you, Light-Bulb?"

Douxie and Makayla: "Ring bells
go ting-a-ling-a-ling,
ring little bells
In our hearts no stealing,
mid the bells appearing
Joy and blessings Holy
from the Child so lowly
Ring bells
go ting-a-ling-a-ling,
ring little bells"

When the song was over, they stopped ringing the bells and everyone clapped and cheered for them both.

"Back to you, Jake." Douxie said with a smile on his face, and undid the spell, making the bells disappear.

"Thanks, Douxie." Jake said. "That was quite the performance."

"Thanks, I've worked hard on it." Douxie said. "Since this show was announced, might I add."

"Right." Jake said. "Let's hear it for Douxie, everybody."

Everyone then clapped and cheered once again as Douxie and Makayla both went backstage.

"Okay, since we're quickly running our of time tonight, it's time to pick a new name from the envelope." Jake said, reaching into the envelope to pick a new name. "The next performance is. . ."

Jake took one look at the name in the piece of paper and am instant frown formed on his face.

"So, this is the surprise contestant?" He said quietly to himself. "Who would accept 'her' to be here of all people?"
