 Aysel's POV:

Entering my condo, I locked the door behind me. I had left Nannu's right after we discussed my "Second Debutante", but not before she made me promise that she would help me with the boutique the next day.

I let out a tired huff, thinking how ridiculous the whole situation was. My grandma was more excited than anyone else for my ex's wife's birthday party or maybe the show that was about to unfold in a few days.

Sighing, I dragged my feet to the kitchen to get some water. I was about to open the fridge when I saw a sticky note on it. Peeling it off the surface, I read it.

"An emergency at the site. I had to leave early. I will be gone for a while.

Call after you wake up. I will explain then.

Eat well and take care.

P.S.: don't miss me too much.

-Dev"

"Why would I miss you!?" I grumbled under my breath but couldn't stop the smile from blooming. "Urgh, why was he so cute!?" I shuddered at my words.

'When did I start having such indecent thoughts?'

I stuck the note back on the fridge, tracing it lightly and carefully to save myself from smearing it. Aidan's handwriting was neat, just like him. His messages were short and to the point.

I drank some water, got some sandwiches out to heat them and let my tiredness be washed away by soaking in a warm, relaxing bath in my room.

After having dinner(the heated sandwiches), I dropped onto the couch and stared out of the window, contemplating if I should call Aidan or if it would seem that I was clingy. From my condo, I could see the breathtaking view of the city.

The rays seemed to play a symphony of hues. I always found it enchanting. The bright yellows of the morning contrasting the orangish purple hues of the evening were always a sight for any nature lover. I sat there watching the last rays disappear when a thought popped up,

"El Dorado!" I was on my feet and started walking around to ease the tension and revise the plan(?) before I called him.

"Okay, Aysie, Calm down. You have got this! All you need to do is call him, okay? You can do this!" I chant to myself as I pick up the phone.

I chanted that the entire time I dialled the phone, and it went through. Consequently, the first thing Aidan heard me say when he received the call was, "I can do it!".

"Never doubted for a moment, Ada." his raspy voice made my insides tingle, 'Way to go, Ada!'

I sucked in a deep breath and pressed my lips shut so I could stop blabbering. Aidan waited for me to continue. I composed myself, "So, um.. I wanted to ask you something."

"I would have loved a 'hello', 'how are you doing?' 'I miss you', but we'll work on that slowly. Go ahead with your question." He prompted gently, and I could almost see him getting straighter while shaking his head.

"Why did you lie?" my voice was too soft. Was I about to cry again? One thing I hated about people was their ability to lie outright to others' faces. I would rather have someone be honest about their hate for me than have them fake-flatter.

"I am unsure if I understand you, Ada. What are you talking about?" he asked, confused.

"El Dorado" was enough for him to know what exactly I was referring to. "Oh... um yeah, so about that," stuttering, he tried to string some words together but failed.
