"Suh miss who seh mia live fi see 10 years from now" I asked the teacher who was curious about our plans 10 years from now

"Miss, mi devn know weh God have in store fimi but, if god spare mi life i will become a real estate agent"
"Wow that nice" she praised "what about you Jayan"
"Miss mi wah be wah hairdresser" she said getting a few giggles from the boys at the back of the class
"What's wrong with being a hairdresser" ms. Haslam asked the boys who were laughing
" what about you ricardo"
"Miss 10 years frah now mia guh be kaka high flames" ricardo answered causing the class to laugh "And tianna ago be mi dejah"

"Nuh mix mi" I responded rapidly moving my hand side to side denying the assertion. This prompted laughter from Tanice, one of my friends.
"What about you Tanice"
"Miss tanice seh she wah be wah butterfly" I playfully quipped, eliciting laughter from my classmates.
"Miss mnk" Tanice replied still laughing from what i said

"You? Weh love skin like yah buddy" Tahjayda inquired, receiving an unserious death glare from the teacher.

"Wahm to uno and Tianna, and a bet she nuh like none a uno" miss haslam laughed "we still have 20 minutes before lunch, but I'll let you all out early because you're on my good side," she declared while packing up her bag
“AND see ten years from now I will be hosting a high school reunion with the students from this class” She said before walking out
Several of the students headed to the cafeteria, leaving behind me, Tanice, Shanay, Nesha, and a few others. The three of them gathered around my table, launching into a session of gossip.

"Mandem whats gwaaningggg" sashane asked upon entering the classroom, drawing a chair closer to us tuning in on the gossip

"That's so mean" I laughed

i laughed at what sashane said before getting up and walking out of the classroom, the girls getting up and following shortly after
"Well next time she wi learn from r mistakes"
"Learn" tanice asked in a confused tone "and have man a finger on bus" she added
"Uno nuh done?" I laugh

We headed to the cafeteria, grabbed our lunch, and returned to class.
After class, I called Teejay, concerned about getting home without him at school.
He informed me that Rajay or Sajay or whatever the name was would pick me up after school.
Later, Teejay called and informed me that Rajay was waiting at the gate in a black Crown.
I walked outside, spotted the car, and knocked on the tinted window.
The window rolled down, revealing the boy with the enigmatic voice.
"Ah you teejay sen fimi" I asked
"Yeah" he said calmly

I entered the car, exchanged greetings with him, and he drove off.
"Umm, so..." I cleared my throat, attempting to initiate a conversation.
"Hmm," he responded, glancing back at me through the rearview mirror.
His gaze made me somewhat nervous, and I couldn't pinpoint the reason why
"Yuh nuh talk much" I inquired, leaning my face through the middle part that separated the two front seats.
He chuckled before responding, "Once mi get fi know yuh, then yeah."
"Well, wi a fren now suh yuh can talk to mi" I reassured. About 40 minutes later, he stopped at my yard gate and I got out. I told him goodbye and left.
