Chapter 9: New Friends

Elizabeth

We relocated to New York, but Eric was unhappy about the move. He felt secure living in King Charles' castle because he feared Loki might attempt to harm us. I, however, was not concerned and refused to let fear dictate my life. Due to safety concerns, our children Peter and Aerial were going to be homeschooled as we couldn't go out during the day. Eric pursued a law degree and became a business lawyer, while I found part-time work at a bookstore, a place I love due to my passion for reading, which is also shared by my children.

The following day, as I was watching television, I heard a news report about the murders in Seattle. According to the reporter, the police suspected that the perpetrator was a werewolf. This news concerned me because I was aware that Peter was a werewolf, and I feared that the police might be targeting him. I was certain that Peter was not capable of committing such crimes.

I understand that Peter doesn't want to communicate with me, but I feel the need to check on his well-being.

When I called him, I expressed my concern, saying, "I know you don't want to talk to me, but I was worried. I heard about the recent killings in Seattle, and the police suspect a werewolf is responsible for these murders."

In response, Peter clarified, "The police don't believe I'm responsible for these murders. Jason Anderson, a Seattle police officer, is leading the investigation and has sought assistance from my father. Dr. Alan Stewart is also involved in the investigation and doesn't believe that a werewolf or vampire is behind the killings. He suspects a human perpetrator."

"Why would anyone want to falsely accuse a werewolf or vampire of murder?" I inquire.

"I'm not sure, but I hope we can uncover the truth. I've adopted the name Jackson Randell," Jackson responded.

"I hope we can catch this killer," I said.

"I'm confident we will. Dr. Alan used to be a police officer and still assists the police in solving many cases," Jackson replied.

Jane

Jane Anderson, a lawyer, relocated to Seattle with her family. She became concerned about her friend and fellow lawyer, David Miller, who had been displaying unusual behavior for a year. Despite being a dedicated worker, David started missing work and arriving late, leading Jane to suspect that he had been drinking. Worried about his well-being, Jane paid David a visit, only to be met with his irritable response to her concern about his frequent absences from work.

David angrily asks Jane why she doesn't mind her own business. Jane responds that she cares about him and is worried. David insists that he is fine and just wants people to leave him alone. Jane decides not to argue and offers to leave him alone, but tells him to call her if he needs anything. David rudely agrees and shuts the door in Jane's face.

Jackson

I wasn't able to meet my partner as planned because I went to see Jason. Later that day, I headed to the police station to meet my new partner.

I saw a beautiful woman there and Hank introduced her to me, saying, "Jackson, this is your new partner, Lily Madison."

I introduced myself and she replied, "Hello, it's nice to meet you. I'm Lily Madison. I'm looking forward to working with you."

I fell in love with Lily, though I never thought I'd fall in love again. However, I was scared of getting hurt again.

Lilyand I went on patrol and decided to look into a gas station robbery. A mannamed Sebastian Walker managed to thwart the robbers at the gas station. Duringthe investigation, I spotted Eric, who I thought was in England, inMississippi. I noticed he was looking at Lily and wondered if they knew eachother, but I chose to ignore him. Sebastian and I ended up becoming closefriend
